just a quick question. When you use quickplay and it randomly selects a timetable service: for routes with multiple timetables; which one does it use or is it random as well?
I think it uses all of them. there is a switch hidden in the settings to tell it to not use tutorials though. I would like one to tell it to not use reduced timetables since I have a beefy pc there is no need for playing with a less busy timetable for me.
It'll randomly select any service from any timetable you haven't yet done. Training modules have a setting so they don't appear.
Fairly certain I've also had scenarios appear that I've already done. It's a good utility as it can pop up some nice surprises, but needs refinement. You should be able to decide if the run it's found for you is to your liking and discard to select another without having to wait until it launches and exit back to the menu. Would also be nice to have a few filters you can set, has an annoying habit of throwing RHTT trains at me, or those free roam style scenarios on some of the US freight routes.
Definetely. the addition of not using tutorials is great. the loading time from tsw3 to tsw4 improved massively too. I love to use it to get some services I don't play generally or some I haven't seen yet. when I can't decide what loco or service I want to play it's fun to see what the randomiser comes up with. I notice some days it prefers certain countries over others, which might be a coincidence but pretty fun nontheless. maybe a suggestion thread for this function would be good. I think the annoying backing out and loading to main menu and clicking through 4 different tabs to get back to a timetable or from finishing a journey or any trip is something that should definetely be looked at.
