Hi There I've been out of the loop regarding AP packs for a while but noticed the new HST EP which lots of scenarios appear to be using. I have the old HST EP (MTU/MK3) and Valenta EP however I guess these have been superseded by the new EP? I don't really want to shell out £30 for this so I'm assuming I can swap out using loco tools (unless there's something drastically different to the new EP which makes it worth buying). Thanks for your time.
Yes, you can swap out pretty much any loco / rolling stock that you don’t have. I find the easiest tool to use is one called Locoswap. Once you get the hang of it it’s really quick and easy.
The new HST pack is a massive upgrade on the old EP but if you can't particularly see the difference by looking at the product page or the YouTube trailer, then it's probably not worth it for you. Where the same liveries are provided, swapping out the new pack for the EP should work fine in most cases.
The new HST is a standalone DLC, not an EP (Enhancement Pack) like the old ones which changed the HST in the European Loco & Asset Pack. It hasn't superseded the Valenta and VP185 EP yet, as it's only the first pack delivering the MTU powered HSTs.
