They actually do not run on the Long Island Railroad because anything made to run on the mainline in the United States needs to meet Federal Railroad Administration crash standards. There are three versions of R160 first is R160A-1 made up of four carriages a single set is 8 Carriages Alstom made R160A-2 Made by Alstom 5 carriages single set 10 carriages. Third version is R160B Kawasaki has 2 propulsion units Alstom while 8843-9102 Siemens propulsion. Siemens propulsion units are assigned to Coney Island Yard N Q & W trains. When running on N & Q train services the PIS Display is better than R68As R68 since these share the same destination rollsigns as 1972 Stock Class 101 DMU.
