    Hello all.
I’m setting this thread up for anyone interested in this years Rail 200. An Nation wide event taking place with the major event taking place on 27 September 2025 to celebrate in the Birth of Modern Rail here in Britain and around the world.

Now to help and get involved I have turned to the only thing I know. Liveries.
I wanted to share some early concepts especially with the 390. This will be a long project due to the nature of work to be done on the passenger cars. Maybe you could add some ideas of your own that could be helpful in its design, or create something interesting to you.

So here are two that’s been worked on now. I have not placed them out as of yet due to my own little worries about doing such work as these. Don’t want to get into trouble, and is why they have not been released. As for 66 825 “Inspiration One” fictional Tops code for GBRf 66 786 is technically complete. IMG_2225.jpeg IMG_2234.jpeg IMG_2230.jpeg IMG_2247.jpeg IMG_2251.jpeg
A lot went into making a workable livery using the logo,,alterations?. If so thinking about this then they may never see the light of day.

Hope fully they will be able to be released. Any advice on that front would be greatly appreciated as I would really like to add and get involved in to this in a once in a life time opportunity in celebrating the Birth of Modern Train Travel.

Our own little way of the DTG community adding to the occasion.

Thank you. Hopefully I’ll be okay to upload it on to CC so at least it’s available in What if Land (TSW5).
Again thank you so much tho, I try make them as realistic as possible or even treat them as a Model to add to your collection. And so because of this they should look the part, or could be imagined being seen in the real world.

Plus I wanted something special to add to the celebrations but also by paying homage to past and the now or even the future of UK TOCs. I’ll be doing 66 789 “British Rail” in this livery soon too. So hoping my plans work so I can get them out for the community to enjoy.

Oh thank you. I do have a few in the pipeline, but I’ll see how I go with the 66 first. A Class 43 is definitely on the job sheets. It was such an Icon for many years, and as secondary measure for the APT it did sterling work, and still does for other countries.

It would be crime to forget the Class 43.

Hey I hope I don’t come across as arrogant but I have been there. I used to do a lot of art and design at home so when TSW came out, and I seen Matt plays driving His trains on YouTube, I thought I’d give it a go. Driving was fine but I struggled real bad trying to even understand the editing. But me being me once I want to do something I won’t give up. I worked day an night to master editing. Messing up on files and then on TSW2 had limited file save issues. Many a many frustrating times even brought me to tears, but thankfully my passion came to the rescue.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t think I’ve made things easy and at times found it hard. Gave up a few times. But my passion won’t fade for something I love doing.
Here is where I really want to help people like your self wanting to be able to enjoy editing, for I found in my early days there wasn’t much content explaining how to recreate work. If they did it was fast (Edit) paced with again no real explanation. So to do this day I long to create a YouTube channel to share with user how to edit, Tips an Tricks. Users could share with me too as I can struggle still some work and I’d be interested to see how others go about things. So we can all help each other and have information available for anyone interested in that side of TSW.

I have certain issue that hold me back tho on making a channel to provide that content. This frustrates me so much because I can’t help anyone if I don’t have that outlet. As you can see I can waffle so for me to explain in writing would be a nightmare for the reader.
So YouTube is the only way I could help, but as I say I have my limitations that I have to accept.

And that’s it in a Nutshell. Apology for the long post,,but don’t beat yourself up. For as you can see no one is perfect and that’s why it’s good to help each other, I’d like to achieve this goal one day. ✌

The 66 livery looks really good like I said in my thread last night :). Get that sent to GBRf ASAP :D! The colours work really well and the red goes well on top of the original GBRf livery. I would make it so that the loco number is 66786 on the cab ends, but 66825 on the sides. Something similar to 66775 or 66723 possibly? Just a thought though ;).

The Pendolino looks alright at the moment, but I know that it is in the early stages of being created. I think I'll comment fully on it once you have fully finished it. It only seems fair!

That livery deserves to be on CC! I don't think I'm the only person to think that though. It just looks right to be on a real-life locomotive too :).

You'll enjoy making 789, that's for sure! If you get the correct shade of blue like I did, then it'll make the livery look even better, and that's before you put the Rail 200 decals on top. Couple that with 66786/66825 and you will have two good liveries ready for September!

That'll be something for you to think about though. But only do it if you feel comfortable doing so. You communicate on the forums and explain your tips and tricks sometimes in your threads if people ask.

I have been in the same boat regarding giving up on liveries and the like. There was one livery I did last year, that I completely hated making (I cover it in more detail in my Releases/Updates thread) just because of how bad it looked. However, that hasn't stopped me from making liveries and I always strive to do my best, even if I have to leave out some elements sometimes.

Hey, sorry for my delay. Just taking it easy on not overloading others or myself.
I just want to start of being saying thank you for the support with this 66 livery. Again like I was saying yesterday it’s about finding something that works and what could be possibly seen on locos in the real world. I believe GBRF are providing services for the event so naturally this firm would be redone for the celebration. I will endeavour to contact GBRf, but again I struggle at times on that front. Me issues, and I can only dream of GBRf contacting me. Because again I can struggle reaching out as I can get all nervous and would probably LOVE it up knowing me.

As before tho, I will take all what you say on board especially with the Idea about numbering. Again you know your stuff and your knowledge has again has helped making this livery better for users.
Taking my time to get ideas like this from the community will make it more realistic for use. So TraimGeek08 your a star for adding this idea.
It will be changed right away.

Yes all the locos seen are in development stages, mainly the 390 Pendolino, so I will do a little post on the basic design later on. It will give you an idea of the direction I want to go with it. But it’s gonna be hard to make and do the research, so if your aware of my direction then maybe again you can come to the rescue, it would be crazy of me to ignore your skills and not have you on board in some capacity.
For I feel if you were then you would be valuable to the project, even a great way for you to be involved with Rail 200 as a whole.

So again Thank you so much TrainGeek08. I knew you’d be the right man for the Job.

    Catch you soon Buddy✌.

Hey. Wow man, thank you. I just get a little nervous about posting up at the moment and kinda want to make sure that they wouldn’t get pulled. So going back to your previous comment on contacting GBRf, is the wiser option for me to take. I don’t want to mess the user base up on CC either. Not with something that has seen high interest.

I shouldn’t be saying this either but I am needing to speak to Matt over something, maybe I could get some feedback on what do form him.
As again I want to make it right and not ruin things for myself or others.

The BR blue. Oh what an headache that is. And is one of the things that abuses my OCD. I’m never happy and so if that’s not right in my mind I will lose all interest or drive for that livery. It bothers me massively. Even last night doing colour testing did I notice how poor I feel the shade of blue is on 66 789 Or TSLP22 for easy ref. It plants a seed of doubt and now I’m in a loop of confusion. I could send a few codes of my take on BR blue. But without going on I simple found in testing that certain colours were different on the surface of the model.
Some are quite rough then some are quite glossy. So the LRV and the model surface effects the overall look, even if using a standard colour code as the excepted colour.

You probably can’t tell in this light but here the newer 66 789 in Rail 200 scheme. IMG_2288.jpeg IMG_2285.jpeg This is the colour I’ve chosen, with colour code taken from the 2023 version of 66 789, TSLP22a. It’s good colour and see if you approve.
To me it looks right, but adding the red can off set the tone of the Blue. So to an untrained eye will look like a complete hash Job by the paint shop:)

Which moves me on to tips etc. I think I tried this with The Works Shed. It was meant for all the different creative styles used and seen on CC. A place for people to show work so any questions could be asked. Such as what colours used or how did ya do a Virgin Trains logo.
All that information could have been there and also a way for users to centralise their work on CC or even unpublished work. I found trying to provide that information was at times pointless. Time that as you know is precious, and why now I’m trying to spend that time on actually talking to users rather than talk to my self or ramble on about how I did this or how I did that. It also takes away the pressure out of trying to do both. By both I mean Liveries, you on Scenarios and being on here to whilst trying to do research.

To sum up on that topic, I think it’s about streamlining the process, and spending time on what’s works. Doing the same thing especially if it don’t work is in my book standing still. Standing still is going backwards as others move forward. That means testing the water. What works what don’t, but at least you will know and your trying to be innovative with ideas. Keeping it fresh, the NEW not the old.

Sorry. Last part now;). Overcoming difficulties when the passion just ain’t there.
I appreciate you being open about difficulties you have faced. And you’ll have to let me know if it’s something you have yet to post up on you thread. I will say this tho, not sure if it will be the same as again I have my issues that influence me. But we are still both humans. We get tired, we get worn out and even subconsciously disheartened if things ain’t going as well as we would like. That’s passion being beaten out of you. So where do you get the strength to overcome when that passion has subsided. For me it’s Competition. It may sound selfish of me, but it can work when all else fails. An example of this is some of my last work I done in Jan 2024. After the failed TEAM DTG and other topics that was hitting me hard I was not willing to give in that easy. So I would look at work and say no Lee, you can push harder than this, succeed not give in. The results was overcoming some difficulties with relative acceptable amounts of success on CC.

And was it all worth it, well I did have a final blow that taken everything out of me and so never really got to enjoy the rewards or self gratification. The Passion and the Competition was us as humans doing to much to please others while constantly trying while beating yourself up at the same time.

And so was it overcoming difficulties with making liveries or difficulty in us not seeing ourselves. Seeing we are human and without that healthy perception that some time the competition is us ourselves. Not a livery or scenario. If we can over come difficult in ourself, then we won’t have any difficulties in our work because we’re are comfortable in any challenge we face.
But also knowing when to step back when us ourselves as humans are doing to much to please others while our strength diminishes.

The work we do or try do will always reflect this state of mind. Wether we are aware or not it’s there.
You could say in this game we are like athletes, we need to be Mentally strong and fit if we want to be the best☺️.

No worries, I'm glad I could be of help. I mean having it in game would be enough if you feel a bit worried in contacting GBRf, especially with everything that has been going on behind-the-scenes (with yourself).

Having it have two numbers would then remove the worry of 'fictional' TOPS codes, and I'm sure you can find a way of tweaking the livery a little to include the 66825 number on the side :).

Yeah, just take your time with things. Like I said yesterday, September is 6 months away, so you have plenty of time. You might even think of new ideas whilst making the Rail 200 liveries in coming months that might look good! ;)

Yeah, of course. You don't want your reputation to be ruined by one slip-up, do you? I'd think it'll be better off contacting GBRf, and/or getting some advice from Matt as well, as I'd presume he'd know his stuff regarding licensing.

It's not too far off of my BR Blue colour. For my 66789 livery, I used the HSV of 195, 100, 32 and when light isn't shining on it, it looks absolutely bang on! See here for an example:

Well, could the red/blue contrast look something like the Departmental livery, as seen on 69004? Maybe it's something to consider on your side?

Yep. It's all about originality, and I think that is one of your strengths as a livery creator. Being able to come up with original ideas, or ideas that are designed to look real. The Works Shed had it's purpose, and still does. I think there are loads of different tips and tricks already there. If you wanted to communicate any tips and tricks, you could either revive The Works Shed fully, or make a second Works Shed, with any new tips and tricks you have for young and budding livery creators.

It is something that I'm willing to discuss on my releases/updates thread after the March content has been announced. I will review the first three months and how I feel about each month. This topic might come up, especially in regards to the content I released towards the end of February. But not giving up is the key to success really. It might dishearten you in the shorter-term, but it will push you to do better in the longer-term.

    TrainGeek08 :).

Hey as always I appreciate having your input. For getting these liveries out again there is no rush, I want them and there releases to go smoothly to prevent any unwanted problems that have undesirable effects on me. There are rules and I want to make sure I’m abiding by them. By taking me time I can be more focused on possibly who to approach at GBRf. Because in fairness I could have 66 825, 66 789 out tomorrow. So I’ll approach them tomorrow and take it from there.

For the TOPs codes. I tend to use Mainline Diesel for information on fleets ownership etc. Like we was talking about with your scenarios and liveries seen in them I feel it’s only fair to use real world locos for adding realism. Your prober into your stuff so will find unique units like you have pointed out. It’s absolutely perfect for what I was wanting to do. As 66 825 does not exist, by doing it the way GBRf and how you suggest, then it can be by still retaining its original TOPs code. And if it was ever to be implemented for real then at least it would be railway legal.

Yes by starting now I will have all the necessary information to achieve my vision. Giving you heads up on this I will be wanting to do some very complex art work of anything historical to the story of Rail 200. Be Locos, Men or even Stations. I feel having all this variety of information from those that have rail at heart could make at least one of the 390s or number Class 43s very fitting. For I’ve got such a lovely design for them, but what/ who etc to be chosen to be remembered as a major contributor to advances in railway technology etc.
Names as Isambard, Stevenson , Peppercorn. As I mentioned I’ll be putting something more substantial up soon on this.
Open it up for users to hopefully engage on ideas so I can focus more on the work then on the research. I feel if I am good at making liveries at least it gives those with vast amount of knowledge to include there passion in the overall finished design.

I don’t want to be getting to confident and get all excited as I do have the tendency of doing. I need to get out some work before I fully commit myself 110 percent to be here. I’ve learnt from the past. Rush and that’s when things go wrong.

I’ll catch up with you soon tho. Let me get these TREs out. IMG_2292.jpeg IMG_2262.jpeg Then I am free.

    Cheers TrainGeek08.

Hello. Okay bit busy today mate. It’s like a fully time Job. I’ve have done that today. I have reached out to GBRf and GBRTT for their advice or on supporting this project. I’m also looking at taking this project further and in different direction than originally planned.
Due to comments and my own personal feelings about the situation now. For at this early stage I feel it would be wrong of me to say anything. As I have also communicated my thoughts on where I’d like this to go, even though I am fully aware it could all blow up in my face.

Again thank you so much for the feedback and your thoughts on the paints. I still spent 2 hours last night. And regardless of what tone I used I was not fully satisfied with how it appears in different months and times of the day. I’m not getting that LRV as I did on the Class 800.
This is in March 14th at 11:00 to 12:00.
    IMG_2322.jpeg IMG_2323.jpeg IMG_2319.jpeg
Where are not to far of on the colour codes in fact we are bang on. But for me I do feel even tho it’s a natural a dark shade of greyish blue it not responding well to changing light conditions that can give it that lighter appearance in tone. I could be OCDing this problem.
But you will know your stuff and to be fair they look right in your pictures. Nice Job too. So I will settle for this tone because we’re are in the small ball park on the codes. And would suggest that we’re both right on what is the right looking shade. For the Red and I know what colour you on about as I did this livery. IMG_7341.jpeg IMG_7325.jpeg These was based on the 69004. And this is the first time looking at the red for this unit and there looking the same.
The red I am using for the Rail 200 is my own interpretation of the red they have chosen for the Logo.
But what the precise colour is I am not sure.

For being creative well I think this was decision I made years ago based on my lack of knowledge back then. I could do BR trains and get the information but it wasn’t natural to me as I am not a full on train enthusiast. I love being creative and I do love trains. I struggle to learn or take all the history in. The stuff you know. Here I would do my own works with HOOKHAUL, so I wouldn’t have to worry about Copyright for its my own fictional company. But like we have mentioned user want real world liveries.
That meant looking at what I could do with real world TOCs. But this has massive implications as I am alternating Logo work. Work that is not mine as a copyright holder. I need written permission for that to be covered. Anything else I find can be considered as fair use within their terms set. So anything I change on a logo could be detrimental as it’s not original nor as the owners intended, for they’re mostly used as Trademarks which has it own set of legislation. Mostly US state laws too.

And here is why I do what I do. There are plenty of user on CC providing the liveries that are necessary for the realistic experience on TSW.
They know there stuff and do a great job. So why add or copy what’s already done. Why ignore my skills as being able to create something new that user of TSW and the community like to see. For we have had the real world and seen it all, but have we seen the future or acted on our desires to be creative on livery designer?.
To brake away from the past and look to the future. I mean you could say it’s why our network are so behind now due the past big fours lack of giving up on the past, with two failed attempts at modernisation.
We learn from the past not live in the past.

I think it’s about being creative in that like with the livery and ethos behind them is honour the past but have our eyes firmly on the future.
Cleaner and greener. That means a whole fresh look and whole corporate identity to take us into the future.
And by doing so even by being in my own little corner doing what I can, it will serve as Inspiration for those who have the future of Rail at heart. Be wanting to create liveries or become a train designer,,because I’d love to design future trains too.
A bit past that now but by being modern and fresh in design hopefully appeal to our children of the future.
And because of this I will endeavour to some how kickstart The Works Shed to encourage more users to participate and share thoughts, ideas and those all important tips.

Sorry about that, a little to much passion, but it’s how I feel about the work I do and only wish I could be more creative by having the freedom to work on some real iconic liveries.

For the updates. I will keep my eyes open then as I do like to read them for the reasons I have already mentioned. And if I was you, then I would try be open. I know I should have some element of professionalism in how we present or work or ourself.
But we are human and so I try be open and honest with certain struggles. That way being open we can help each other out as either community members or as friends helping each other out when the need arises.

To support each other now matter what the situation is. Because as Humans we are not perfect. Not one of us.
Success is a team effort, I am human and can’t do it on my own.

And that what disheartens me. The failure of Man to help Man.
I can never fully change that but at least I can try in my own little way.

Catch you again soon. Please excuse me today. I must have my deep philosophical head on.
    Thank as always tho TrainGeek08.

Okay Folks just a little message from me. I will be doing a post later on or tomorrow with a few more details about these liveries.
It’s quite a busy time as I have been hard at work contacting a few companies.

I may need a few hours to get me nervous together, so a strong cuppa and a Cherry Bakewell is in order I feel.

But I will endeavour to add more later.

    Thank you folks.

    TSLP.

Okay I’m back as I have been slightly delayed, and so I apologise for my lateness.

I will give an update on where I am currently with this livery in that I will hopefully be able to open as project to the community here and wider. The reason for this is due to nature of the work and where I would like to go with it as a community project.
I can not do this without the relevant backing from those I’d like to have onboard to get this moving forward.
Even if I am thinking big at the moment this could all fall flat, but failing that as least I’d like them placed out on to CC in some form or another.

For this I have reached out to a number of companies and someone that also has dealt with these type of issues due to their position.
And so I feel it’s only fair on those parties concerned not to speak about my plans until I have heard back or had some assistance or direction.

As again I may have created a livery but it is using Rail 200 and other companies branding so I am not fully responsible for the credit of the work. Just the concept awaiting approval I guess. For what ever those with the rights to the original works feel I am able to do and not do.
It’s only right and would put my mind at rest for help with a number of other personal issues that like some of you may know has happened in the past.

It’s for me to respectfully create something we can hopefully all enjoy on the run up to the main celebrations. Even the Big Train meet in August.

So rather me waffle on as I do, here are a few photos of a possibly scene that some of would love to see for real.
Sit back,,enjoy ya tea and I hope you enjoy the photos.

Please if you have any questions or advice then feel free to contact me.
I’ll do all I can to answer.

Thanks again folks for taking the time being here.
    Lee. TSLP.

PLEASE NOTE: 37 501 is made by me but from a different account. This was due to me over complicating matters.
But Blackstripe is me and so is all the work done under that user name.

    Hello all.

Okay what can I say, well I could start by saying I feel I am losing grasp of the situation right now.
So allow me to quickly explain, if I can.
Right now I am focusing on a number ideas of what I feel are complex ones.
Mostly trying to get the necessary rights etc and to get those onboard like I have already previously stated.
Here I am being considerate to those I have reached out as I’m sure these things take time. Either that or they think I’m off my head.
What ever the case maybe I’m not giving up Hope. Come on DTG Matt, I need you:) and all other parties I’ve reached out to.
I mean come on it’s to celebrate and as of now I haven’t seen much in ways of support or even celebrating such a event from DTG team.
Something I thought DTG would be jumping at.
My ideas of special liveries made with fully support from GBRf and others that are vital to bring a DLC of the Great Train Meeting as a possible future DLC released to raise money and awareness of those charities.

I’m not doing this for me, I could be hiding away creating a HOOKHAUL F59 or something. But I’m not, I’m trying to overcome personal issues and the challenges that comes with approaching companies I need in order to get this moving as away to raise money for charity and of course the event itself.
Yet all I can do is wait, fingers crossed that at least one person would have the decency to assist or just put me out of my misery in worrying that all this is for nothing.

So that’s that basically, I need all that information etc to go forward the way I’d like. If not then I can try think of something not as adventurous as I am attempting.

Now that’s out of the way I’d like to share a few works I’ve been working on. This are the two projects that I’m currently trying to pursue as a fictitious concept. Those being a Railway 200 Theme livery and a possible future GBR Logo an its corporate identity.
The 396 with its London Midland branding was done in a few hours with the last few spending time on toying around with decals etc.
Here I found a few things that I never really touched . London Midland decals was one, and so with the original design being aimed towards a new GBR livery with Railway 200 on the side, I felt the overall look of the livery after toying around worked rather well.
So 395 I will be a release as using the branding is a okay, nor will I be altering the Railway 200 logo.

All of the works you will see are in various stages of production. Be the 710 in its Moc Thomas paint theme or one two that are really at the testing stage, like the LNER class 43. LNER never helped nor did I get any authority to use in its altered form. It was even blanked by DTG so I couldn’t use for my own personal use. Still had no explanation to why. So you will see the old design (they must have removed the coding to blank them) but sadly I will not do any more LNER liveries due to how poor my experience was. So the LNER logo will be removed and replaced with a decent company.
And I apologise for my decision due to ending the A4 Heritage project. A project I was planning on pursuing.

Anyway that’s the past with the future looking a little brighter. But more news on that soon;)
I will leave you all now to check out the photos. Some of you may have seen the odd one or two if you follow The Works Shed.
As I say these are still in production stages, there for if you would like to be involved or have any suggest then please let me know…..

I’ll have to download my class 43 Photos, so I’ll leave you with the 395 in a fictional London Midland livery.
    IMG_2515.jpeg IMG_2518.jpeg IMG_2521.jpeg
I do like this livery and it’s colour. I will work on the doors etc so hopefully I can release this soon for the community to enjoy.

Well as always I hope you like, please share your thoughts as it will help me provide high quality content going forward.
Be fictional work or non fictional.

Bye for now folks, and don’t forget to keep your eyes posted for some exciting news. Something I hope you will all enjoy when all the facts are out. If you can’t hold back your curiosity then I’m sure TrainGeek08 has something for you;)

Thanks man, I was listening to some Pearl Jam:)

If I can just say thats what this thread is for so we can all share our thoughts and passions for this once in a life time opportunity.
The whole event is about being inspired so if you do feel inspired then I hope I’m doing that.
This is not my event I’m just trying to get the community involved as away to celebrate the event.

I don’t want it to be all about me, so I’d love for you to share your ideas so you too can be involved with Railway 200 directly.
There are a number of ways to be involved be on a individual basis or as business with many free tools and resources that would be great for anyone wanting to be part of the celebrations in promotional terms.

Here I struggle so I’d really love to see you or those that love all things Rail to help support Railway 200 and those all important charities by having some fun and promoting this amazing event.

As I can’t say to much right now but if you get going full of ideas or inspiration, then you maybe in for a treat.
I’ll have to have an emergency meeting with me Partner at this rate:)

Sorry if I went on but I’m just doing what I love to try bring something exciting to the community so we can all be part of Railway 200.
So please this thread is not for me it’s for us all to share.

And thank you so much for your support, I will try support you too the best way I can.
    Lee, or TSLP. ✌

I guess this is a worldwide railfan thing or just UK? so I know what kinds of trains I got to work with... as I play all kinds of content, but I prefer mostly German/Austrian content :) ... and I love to do fictional liveries... my latest was a 146.2 in Ukrainian colors, trident (state symbol) and my own original rendition of a sunflower, kind of (also wanted to add inscriptions in Ukrainian script, but the game couldnt recognize those) :) ... so the only "condition" is that it is 200 years of railways? :)

I’d would say so yes. As it’s about celebrating the Birth of Modern Railways as we know today. Here in the UK is where it all began with the Stockton & Darlington Railway. So obviously that is the key event in September with many more taken place across the UK on the run up.
So I’m like you I don’t really stick to one region as such, but I do stay away from works you deal with due to my lack of knowledge, and the amount of quality work done by those in the know.

I’m having the same thoughts as you in bringing in other locos or units from other countries. This is because I’m not fully aware of how widespread this event reach’s. And like I’m explaining now to you then I would suggest if it’s to celebrate the Birth and rise of the Modern Railway then many other countries have contributed in it’s development have they not?.

So I guess you’d have many ideas due to your county of residence and the interest that you have already. If you like mixing things up a little as this is game and I’m sure if we’re following the rules then doing something artistic or a nod to an event can do no harm.

As I say there is the Railway 200 site that can explain more in detail on the rights and terms of usage of the Railway 200 logo, plus more in depth information about the whole event to if that clears up what Railway 200 is all about. Yet I don’t feel the need to lecture you on rights if use if you to do fictional work. I do have a thread called The Works Shed if you’d like to share on there work you have done.
Not because I’m lazy but I’m not good with finding what’s what.
So The Works Shed is a place for anything artistic or away from what I call the traditional side of BR. The Old.
TWS is for fun vibrant funky stuff, all the creative side, also a place to exchange tips etc.

Anyway I’m waffling but it would be cool if you could share some of your work. You might inspire me:) or help others that would like to get more into making liveries. Plus those liveries you bring up then I’m sure I seen them ether sometime in mid 2024 or earlier. You’ll have to forgive me, my memory is shockingly bad. But if they are what I remember then if its caught me eye then they must have been something different and not the same old same old.

And hey I really appreciate you taking time to read and being here, I really hope to see what you have come up with too. For as I say you may want to check back soon for more news on a something that I and TG08 have lined up.
It might be of some interest to you;)

    Thank you so much tho.
    Lee, TSLP.✌.

This livery looks great. Then again, I'm a bit biased considering London Midland was my local operator before the days of LNR. But, keep it up :)

if you search for Razmatus in Creation club, I assume it should show you my liveries :) ... got that Ukrainian one, a special memorial one for Israel, a couple imaginary liveries for locos like what if those were used by Slovak Railways (ZSSK), a couple imaginary ones, and then approximations of OBB liveries like CityJet and CityShuttle :D

my current fav is the 146.2 livery in Ukrainian colors, but I also often use the 182 in what-if ZSSK livery... used to drive a lot with 112, but they botched its brakes with some update, so I would have to remake the Israeli livery for 114, which... no :D ... the IDF logo was too tiring to create :D

anyway, if I have a cool idea and create sth new, might as well post it here then :) will see

I’m glad you like it, as I say it wasn’t planned to be like this. Finding the LM logo changed all that. So I have a few more up my sleeve including the original concept. Maybe you could have some input on something I’m struggling with.

My Aim at the moment is to keep focus on the two projects. Railway 200 and me messing around with finding a workable livery, a new BR logo and standard livery across all sectors. I have hardly any experience of knowledge in getting the various regions colours etc.
So here you maybe able to help me understand these so I can make what I have a vision for it to appear like.

A simple livery for cost effectiveness. But keep the entire UK fleet a standard livery but with the Logo displaying different colours with there thin line. These lines are fed from the nose under the blue line. This is why you will see a slight gap.
    IMG_2528.jpeg

Due to my lack of knowledge and if you would like to be involved with this design. I will give credit where due.
You can even have a say on what region would be best for the 395 so I can make the appropriate changes fast. Again ref to colour and colours of your chosen region.

By you being involved to you might be able to assist me and I might have something for you. As already discussed:).
I have to much to do, so many ideas that I need members to help. And I want that not for me but so others can be involved with what they love and with the Railway 200 events as a whole.

No pressure tho, and don’t want to say to much. But you know where I am;)
It would be great for you to be onboard tho, it really would.

Until then, thank you for showing support and hopefully will can chat soon.
    Lee, TSLP.

I’ll be honest with you I don’t really look for those kind of liveries as I don’t use the locos or DLCs even tho I have quite a few some how.
I feel so rude about this, not only that I tend to keep myself to myself in the past. Something I’m trying to change.

So I will go and check as soon as I am done here. Also if I see the one I’m thinking of then I’ll point it out to you.
For the other things you mention then here again my apologies as I’m not aware if many operators outside the UK. I know a little about US locos etc and TGV sets but that’s about it.

I’ll have to go too as got decorating to do now. The wall plaster is still moist and me kids want it all done in a night. Lol.
But when I get free time in the early hours when all are asleep I’ll be able to focus on gaining some insight into what you do and the what styles it is. I maybe able to think of something ya see as an idea for you.

Oh and I will be doing a little announcement later on so you may get a better sense of direction for what would be ideal for celebrating the event. That’s nothing personal I say this as it’s not my event, I’m here to bring those interested in what I and TrainGeek08 is trying to do, as a community coming together for the event.

Just having it here all in one place will help all share and see different things that we may not normally see or will ever see for real.
Which is a shame but at least we can try replicating a Big Meet for people on TSW to flex there creativity for all to see.
Oooops. Me and my big mouth;)

So please we would all love to see what you do, hopefully I’ll can catch you soon.
    Thanks again.

And please to anyone reading this then it’s time to get creative.
    Have fun all.

Oh my friend thank you, anything you can do would certainly help.
And hey don’t think I’m sat with me finger up,,,,. I try take it all onboard watch videos at night, but when I wake up it’s all gone, lol.
That’s just me tho,, I think to much which can get me in tangles.

So having a good set of hand to help the best they can will really help make these liveries a little special.
Not just how they look, but the way they was raised by all involved.

A team effort, that’s what will make them special.
We, the community did them, together.

Sorry I’ve gotta fly, but when I’m a little less push for time I can share some more details and the actual unit set for work.
That’s for both ideas, including those class 43 coaches if they too are any interest to you.

As always tho thank you for this help.
    Speak soon.

Hey I struggle to send emails, and your the tech guy. Lol. But I’ll try get to grips with all this technology.
I gave up Auto CAD because I missed my Drafts Board, and my engineering rule an pencil.

In fact I’m amazed I can do liveries on a console.

Oh no this this mean I am old?:(
    Even worse irrelevant?. (Said Jokingly).

I’ll try get to grips with it all.

    Meeeee. Lee.

That's fine. Take your time. I understand that a lot has to go into not only inviting another person onto a project, but also configuring a structure which works for you and others involved. I am excited to work with you on this project and look forward to working with other's to celebrate Railway 200.

    All the best,

Cheers JPlayz, that is a lot to do with getting a project off the ground. It needs input from those behind it all. But for me anyway I can’t speak for others that are involved, then I can get overwhelmed or I worry that I may have missed someone’s comments.
So I have to take a quick break like I just have.

Im not moaning about any of this tho, for right now I am so delighted your are going to part of this. Be with your own ideas and creations or be the one I’m happy to have you onboard to get moving,,,,Mmmm?, I don’t know let’s call it the Romance of Rail Project. What do you think?. Maybe we need to speak more about how you can execute what I have in mind, or what is achievable using the tools available, as your the man in charge of that department. I can’t dump it on your door step and leave it at that, I’ll give you a take on what I’d like and you have the artistic freedom to express your talents and skill set. You and your side contribution to this little side project for Railway 200, like what I and those currently involved are doing.
We, they, I or you even all have our own normal threads too aside from this Project. What any of us do outside of this project has nothing to do with or to do directly that much with Railway 200. In layman terms away from the Railway 200 Project if it’s to be called that, we basically don’t get involved with any of there other activities in terms of direction is what I am trying to say.

Enough of my waffles but when I get time, then I will show you what I’m talking about tomorrow as I’m running behind schedule to night. I don’t want to be giving to much away either so I’ll DM later on or tomorrow afternoon. I create work through the night, it’s when I’m more productive you see.

I love the peace and quiet, I can not stand noise. So a night Owl I have become.

I will speak to TrainGeek08 over the weekend as He will have his hands full I’m sure. I can tell Him about our venture so I can make some formal announcements about who’s doing what. Again I’ll give you heads up before I do any such things tho.

    I always will.

Right I best go, but thank you for being involved with this in such short notice.

Enjoy the rest of your evening and I’ll catch you in a bit:)

The Project is now open for the Team to focus on bringing some exciting ideas to celebrate Rail 200 for you the community to enjoy or be involved with.

Below is a link to explain further on the official event by the event owners.
    https://www.networkrail.co.uk/stories/all-aboard-railway-200

All here on the community members have no official connections with the owners or promoters of Rail 200. We the Team are just members of the DTL community getting together to enjoy a once in a life time opportunity.

A must for any true rail enthusiasts.

    Ok, Let’s meet the Team.

For those that don’t know much about me then My name is Lee, I also produce work under the alias of TSLP. And of course my community user name. I am the member behind the idea for this project, I say project but it would not reach this stage without the support of two fantastic people who I believe have the ability to make this what it has now become.
A project that can only be done with their involvement, so here as community and part of the Team members then I can’t thank you enough.
All this is happening because of your involvement.

So come on who are they, who does what?.
Okay I hope I point you all in the right direction as each member will be responsible for a set task overlooked by me.
This is so all members have the necessary direction and as a Team make decisions that may be necessary in order to achieve our collective goal. It’s also structured like this so you the community can be aware of each member’s area relative to the success of this project.
This is vital not only to this as a project but also for their own personal threads, and again for you the community to interact with based on your interest in each member’s work.

Here I am delighted to announce the members who are participating as of now.
Firstly allow me to introduce TrainGeek08 a member of the community that I feel needs no introduction due to his wide user base and his constant hard work to provide quality content such as scenarios. I believe He has the ability and so much knowledge that is key to the success of the project. TrainGeek08 is the man for job and so his task right now is working on some special scenarios, He is the man to go to in relation to all things route related and scenarios based. He is free as a Team member to work with the community so He and you can make this a what I envisioned. Us working as Team and you the community members be involved to celebrate Rail 200.

Because you to are as vital to this project more than anything, we the team need your help. More on that in a moment tho.
    So moving on.

Now time for our second Team member Mr Mystery. This is not his real name unless He has a fetish for role playing. Just kidding but I feel quite rude as He is a Mystery to me. But what I do know is I believe He has the skill set needed for what I would say is very difficult task.
The reveal of Mr Mystery, Drum Roll Please,,,,JPlayz. JPlayz has come from no where really, but if fate is a thing then He really is a God send. He has shared with me his passion for being artistic and his love for creating liveries in general.
As I say He couldn’t have come at a better time, and to be involved at such short notice too. So JPlayz your a good man, a proper star for doing this. Like I say folks JPlayz has a difficult job to do because He will be doing something very hard to do for the event in terms of designing and than the actual application. I feel quite bad as yes I was going to attempt my self but I don’t have the time nor the skills that I feel are necessary to add to the project. JPlayz is dealing with all that, so like TrainGeek08 they both will manage each area of task given but to be engaged with you the community to help them complete their task and as us the community to make this happen.

I feel this is important of me to be clear on in relation to who is responsible so credit is given fairly.
Obviously as the use of the Rail 200 logo maybe used, WE the TEAM has no ownership or credit for that work and is solely owned by NETWORK RAIL. WE the TEAM are adhering to rules set out in the T&C and so used under those terms of use.
Yet I as an Individual may have been a little excited with some of my work, and so hopefully I will be having a discussion about these matters on a personal level.

BUT any work that TrainGeek08 and JPlayz as creators of a scenario or livery product then all credit goes to them as the creators.
I have given both members the ideas but they are the ones running with it to make it happen. Again I say all this a Key Member of the Team as I feel it’s my responsibility to do. My idea but for the work done, then I have no rights as a creator, the credit for the creation goes to the respective creator by TrainGeek08 or JPlayz .

    Intermisson.
    One moment home emergency.

Okay I’m back. Sorry about folks.

So what are we the Team actually doing, what it all about. And why are we the community vital?.
Okay simple put the core aim right now is to celebrate Rail 200, that is essential the key aim. As individuals we have formed a partnership to bring it to fruition in what we do best. Again the Importance of TrainGeek08 and JPlayz based on their skills and personal interests in Rail 200.

Now Rail 200 is to celebrate the Birth of Modern Railways and it would be a shame for anyone that love rail full stop to miss out.
Be a from a Driver to a young person wanting to get involved, but not sure how. We the Team want to make this happen for you the community and so we need your help.
We are planning on a few things that when completed will be available for all to use. But it would be absolutely amazing if you would like to share your ideas, the work you have done. WE NEED YOUR CREATIVE MINDS TO FLOW. Why because your livery could be placed for a special chartered service to help the Team achieve our goal support and celebrate Rail 200 with you involved. So please this is open to anyone interested because it’s a national event which mean we should celebrate this together on TSW5.

We do really need your support folks, we really do. So the doors are now open for you to come and share you ideas or show off what you have done to celebrate Rail 200. Because that what the Team here are looking for. As I say this is open to anyone so please don’t hesitate or have doubts in your skills or ideas. Just have fun be creative with this as that’s what it’s all about.

Us all coming together for a good of the Rail 200 event. And a community as a whole

Well that’s it folks, I’ll be back tomorrow to hopefully see all your fantastic ideas and work.
All members here I are looking forward to you being involved, and so if you’re interested then please the team members will respond including myself when we can. All I ask that we all respect that time because for some, then time is quite difficult to find.

Members here want this project to be perfect for you fans of TSW5, so with your help and feedback then together we can make it happen for the benefit of celebrating Rail 200 and every one that contributes.

Thank you all for supporting us and the Team here looks forward to having you involved.

    Many Many Thanks.
From Me, Lee and the Team Members TrainGeek08 and JPlayz.

Hello everyone, I'm very proud to be a part of this team along with Lee and JPlayz :).

If anyone has any questions regarding the scenarios I'm making in this project (or even about scenario creation in general), then fire them away. I'm happy to answer any questions either in this thread or in HERE as well.

Welcome onboard to anyone that is willing to join us on this project.

    TG08 :).

Hello all, I have something to share regarding the scenario that I am making for this project:

Here is a plan of what it involves:

    Scenario Title: 1Z01 CRE-XWF (87)

Scenario Starting Location: Milton Keynes Central Platform 2
Scenario Ending Location: Willesden Brent Siding 8 (goes past Wembley, so the event will be seen as you go past heading to the end location)

    Scenario Start Time:
    08:25
    Scenario Date: 27th September 2025
    Scenario Weather: Light Clouds

    Scenario Duration:
(unknown as of yet) (scenario is unfinished)
    Scenario Difficulty: (as above)

Required DLC (as it stands, will update when necessary):

West Coast Main Line South (the route that the scenario occurs on, AI traffic)
West Coast Main Line Over Shap (player train)
    West Cornwall Local (AI traffic)
Great Western Express (AI traffic, may make a formation with the WCML 66 instead)

    Required Liveries:
I'll allow Lee to explain that bit, as that is his side of the project. I'm the scenario creator :D.

"What happens in the scenario at the moment?"
I hear you all ask. Don't worry, let me explain:

You start at Milton Keynes Central, as the morning peak comes to a close on this significant Saturday. Today is the 27th of September, the day that Rail 200 is being celebrated on. You are driving a Class 87 electric locomotive on service 1-Zulu-01, a special service that has originated in Crewe earlier that morning, and is going to the event at Wembley Yard. You take it over at 08:25, just as service 1-Alpha-12 arrives alongside you on Platform 4 on its service to London Euston, having came from Liverpool Lime Street.

Departure time! You receive the two buzzers from the guard, so you buzz them back twice, signalling that you are going to depart bound for Wembley. And 1-Alpha-12 also leaves at the same time as you... who makes it to Bletchley first? After passing a couple of late-running services as you leave Milton Keynes, you race 1-Alpha-12, until it gathers more speed (because it's a Pendolino), and it overtakes you before you reach Bletchley.

After passing Bletchley Carriage Sidings, and Bletchley station (where a terminating Marston Vale Line service is spotted), you cross with 1-Yankee-17, a London Northwestern Railway service from London Euston to Birmingham New Street. It is worked by a double pair of Class 350 'Desiros', which are the flagship trains for LNWR. Not long to go until your first stop of Leighton Buzzard...

After passing through Linslade and arriving into Leighton Buzzard, you cross with 2-Kilo-09, a London Northwestern Railway service to Milton Keynes Central from London Euston. Another pair of 350s! God they're popular...

After boarding passengers at Leighton Buzzard, the guard and driver exchange buzzes, signalling the departure for the next stop of Tring. This is where it gets interesting...

Unbeknownst to the player, Platform 4 at Tring is out of action, due to a broken down train blocking the platform. So, the service that terminates from London Euston at 08:30 (2-Tango-13) has to use Platform 5 instead. This causes a delay, as it is not due to depart until 08:45 as 2-Tango-14. However, there is a service in between 2-Tango-14 and 1-Zulu-01 too... There is a freight train working service 4-Lima-12 from Hams Hall GBRf to London Gateway GBRf. So, it has to sit for five minutes outside of Tring station until 2-Tango-14 leaves the station. Meanwhile, on 1-Zulu-01, we pass Cheddington under green signals. But, those green signals soon change to yellow signals as 1-Zulu-01 approaches Tring... The player has to respond to the adverse signalling, caused by 4-Lima-12 being held at a red signal just outside of Tring, due to the aforementioned LNWR service.

Once the player stops at the red signal, you have to wait for a few minutes whilst the line clears ahead of you. The red signal jumps up to a single yellow aspect. The player then applies power, whilst being mindful of the signals. Luckily, both 2-Tango-14 and 4-Lima-12 clear the line ahead of you, so you will arrive into Tring on double yellow aspects at worst. Will the player make it to Wembley?

So, that's the plan at the moment. I'll keep you updated on any changes or updates on the scenario, both on here and on my own thread.

    TG08 :).

    Hello:)

I thought I recognised your username. You would like to add or share your livery then don’t let us stop you:) It would be absolutely awesome to see what members are coming up with for celebrating Rail 200 as rail fans and community.
I’ve left a comment on TrainGeek08 thread as you was making inquiries about adding there.
He’s the route guy so I’m sure he can short something for you. Like I say in the comments there, we need liveries and your support.

That’s what your giving us, so we will do the same.

    Cheers✌
    Lee.

I appreciate the compliment and kind words Lee :).

The scenario isn't done yet (as you know) and AI is only added as far as Tring at this stage. Hopefully at some point this week the plan is to get AI in between Tring and Watford Junction but we'll see .

It’s okay mate, but it’s true you know your stuff.

And of course, is placing the Ai is when you will be looking for adding any community members liveries or a certain class of unit or loco?.
For my own reference and others that maybe wondering.

Actually I maybe repeating this question. Now we have an end date for the liveries to be in, but did we set an open date for a particular class?. I’m not sure with how busy its been. So just asking for my own reference and for the community.

I’m sure we have had this conversation tho;)
    Lee.

I'll have a better picture of what liveries I'm needing and how the community can get involved after I put all of the AI in. That's my main focus right now :). However, I'll communicate this with you (and everyone else) for what liveries I'm needing for specific classes of units or locos as and when I can.

As I mentioned above, once I have most (if not all) of the AI in, then I'll discuss with the community about what liveries I either need made by them or any good liveries from CC that would work too.

Even if I use (or get recommended) liveries from CC, it's still made by community members. So if you think about it, we'll have more participants than first meets the eye.

    TG08 :).
