Hi I am considering getting one of these controllers. I currently have a Xbox Controller, which is okay, just. I cannot get on with keyboard control and I have never used one for any of the Flight Sims and Driving Sims I have ever owned, preferring more authentic control systems, like joysticks, wheels, pedals and throttles.

If you are a user I would appreciate any feed back you can give me including any short comings. How does the Raildriver work with all of the trains in TSW4?

I really enjoy using the Raildriver. I started using it several years ago with TSC using the Cobra One software that allowed pretty granular configurations you could develop for each locomotive. Like you, I am a flight simmer as well and have a full kit of the honeycomb yoke and throttle plus rudder pedals and it really adds to the immersion.

While the Raildriver does add immersion to TSW and the sim provides native support without resorting to another program, the lack of standardization between button assignments is irritating. Especially on such vital items as PZB and even SIFA acknowledgements can be maddening. It would be great if a standardize assignments would be applied. Or even better, allow the configurations to be modified by the user.

Is the Raildriver a necessary peripheral, not really. Does it add to simulation, surely it does. Is it worth the investment, well that is a personal value judgement, but for me, it was.

I use a RailDriver. It's good but it's not amazingly better than an Xbox controller. I've had it for 23 years and it's fairly robust. It's usability across DLC is variable mostly because the trains themselves are so different in how they're controlled. Some recent ones like the 101 Expert and it's cab car don't support it. If you've got any questions after you get one let me know.

When I was into Flight Sims, mainly combat WW11 fighters back in the early 2000's, there was one guy in our Squadron that lived in the USA, he built a Spitfire fuselage, complete with a cockpit in his garage, and filled it with gauges and controls. His wife must have been very understanding, or at the very least a Saint.
