I have TS2016 on Steam. Just got TSW2 via Epic. Will I be able to program both sims to the Raildriver?

The raildriver has its own program that you run to Calibrate it for TS, and anytime you want to use it in TS then you would need to click on the RD64 icon on the desktop before you launch TS. For TSW you calibrate it within TSW and there is nothing else you will need to do. Everytime you launch TSW the raildriver will be ready to use.

Edit: You will need to go the raildriver website to get the program for TS.

Thought I'd pass along my experience with programming my new RD. As mentioned, I have both TS2016 and TSW2 on my HD. I first calibrated the RD for TSW2 which went flawlessly and all controls and switches/buttons worked. Using the Macro 3.1program, I calibrated TS2016. As you stated, I went to PI Engineering and downloaded the RDTS2019v1006.exe to allow me to switch between the two sims. It gave me the two options, 32 and 64 bit files. Seeing that I have been running Railworks TS2016 64 bit, I selected the RD64 option. I fired up TS2016 and all the controls worked EXCEPT the buttons and switches. I had no Horn, Bell, Sander or Alerter. I went back to Mac3.1 and checked the key assignments for those switches. I exited Mac3.1, fired up TS2016 again and still no functioning Horn, Bell, Sander or Alerter. Gameplay was set to Expert. What is going on here?

After several hours of frustration with non functioning switches/buttons and checking key assignments etc., I decided to revert back to Railworks 32 bit and used the RD32 option. Fired up TS2016 and the Horn, Bell, Sander and Alerter worked.

So I can only guess that TS2016 was never upgraded to 64 bit. I really don't know. Do you know anything about this?

    Thanks

For Train Simulator I would suggest trying the Cobra One Raildriver and Joystick interface. You'll find it if you google it. In my opinion it is far better than PI Engineering's own driver. It definitely works with the 64 bit Version (I've just been using it myself) and is far more flexible to configure.

PS Any reason why you are using TS2016 when the upgrades are free each year?

When I fire up TS, the loading screen shows TS2022. I was under the impression (?) that upgrades were new routes that were added to each year's iteration but that you had to pay to get them. Is this correct?

If it shows TS2022 you have the latest version. You'll get the upgrade to the software free each year but if you want the route bundle you have to pay..... It's not worth getting excited about the yearly upgrade though, there hasn't been anything really significant for a couple of years.

As you have TS2022, the PI Engineering Software should work with the 64bit software. I still recommend you try the Cobra One software though. It really is very good.

Yes, it did work for the controls, but not the horn, bell, sander and alerter. I downloaded Cobraone's software and will take a look at it. To be honest, I can't see any difference in performance between the 32 and 64 bit offerings.
