Hey all, I've done much searching all over the site here and on the TSW4 FAQ page but have failed to find anything related to this. Obviously Raildriver finally got support, specifically in TSW3 but I haven't seen anywhere about confirmed support in TSW4. You would think that obviously the support would carry over to TSW4 but I'm unsure and thought I'd ask. Does anyone know? Thanks!
I don't imagine they'd remove the functionality from the next iteration of the game, I certainly hope it is still supported! If I may tack on an extra question on the subject, will Raildriver be remappable so we can set it up how we like it, or will it still just be mapped by the devs of the route/loco? With the accessibility changes coming to add keybinds to all functions previously only operable by a mouse, I would hope that these are catered for on the rail driver inputs too!
Hey - Rail Driver will be there in the same functionality as it was in TSW3 (so not remappable based on the accessibility changes).
Thanks for the reply JD! Good to know the functionality will remain. Here's hoping for remappable functionality sometime in the future!
Great to hear! Thanks! I've personally never gotten to use Raildriver with any TSW version so I'm quite excited to do so, specifically running Metrolink. Can't wait!
I have a question. It seems the adds-on list on RD setting page doesn’t display well. Almost all of trains are missing. Given this, how can I get the button mapping information set by DTG for each route and loco?
It's the only train I drive in TSW4 at the moment and I can say Raildriver works perfectly with it. No issues.
Thanks for letting me know. My RailDriver has been delivered and I've spent several hours with it. Yes, it works well with Metrolink and many other locos/routes I tried. The point made me down is its poor precision - you will need to be very careful - like you're teasing it - when you wanna apply a level-1 throttle or 20% only dyna break. And it happened sometimes you couldn't reach 100% thrt/brk even if you fully push/pull down the lever, and you need to "shake off" if a few more times to make it reach 100 pec. I was considering returning it and buying a HOTAS and turn to some third-party mapping solutions. Still thinking about that.
Sounds like you just need to run the calibration program. My trick is to push the throttle or brake just a hair shy of all the way up or down before clicking the "calibrate" button. This way you'll definitely have 100% (or 0%) of whatever when you need it.
It seems that with TSW4, it only shows the locos of the Training Center, and of the Route you currently have selected.
