A friend recommended me 2 sites for uploading pictures: a European runned page called www.railroadpics.net & an American runned page www.railpictures.net .

As i have a compact Kodak AZ425 20MP camera and a Cheapo 50MP Xiaomi Redmi 10 2022 phone i said i will give it a try. Little did i know it would not be that easy.

They do have the most abysmal requirements for photos. Most being max 1600x1400, have been taken in 1:1 or 3:2, When taken to be uncompressed and downsized to around-ish 1.5 to 2MB in size and JPG format. And the classic: Photos taken from Smartphones will not be accepted, No matter if it has god tier camera like an iPhone/Samsung or any other maker.

As far I am concerned if you are zooming pictures or you are editing through Photoshop/Canvas/GIMP or anything else, I'm pretty sure the quality of the picture drops.(Obviously, I do not talk about DSLR cameras as i have little knowledge about them)
No doubt, I understand Bandwidth matters & the screeners/admins select what they want in the page so no big deal.
But the biggest factor in this case is when you get Rejected because of "Low/poor quality" picture or "Too dark" - "too cloudy" - "over-exposed/saturated" and other's pictures are getting accepted with the above-mentioned is pissing me off.

As I said no big deal but still unfair moderation.
i want to know your experience with such sites.

Here a full-quality picture from the Camera uploaded to Flickr [IMG]
