With the New Journeys Expansion providing new railtours I thought this could be done for other routes in the game as well. The thing is there are many preserved trains around the world which we will be unlikely to see in the game in their real-life current configurations outside of preserved railways. Now at the moment a number of British routes (not sure about other countries) have railtour services which run with old stock from NTP, TVL etc. This is great and is good fun, and a brilliant way to get extra use out of these trains but it would be nice to have a more accurate portrayal of railtours. The problem is, railtour services do not warrant a loco-add on by themselves, there just isn't enough to justify it. So what I suggest is using expansion packs to provide these services. Now these will only involve modifying and updating existing stock with new liveries and smaller changes to the locomotives themselves where appropriate, but these will very specifically focus on trains we can see today out on railtours around the world. We have so many potential locos for this already, just on the British side of things 20s, 31s, 33s, 37s, 40s, 45s, 47s are all seen on railtours and I would love to see these special liveried and often named locomotives represented in the game carrying railtour specific headboards with spotters lining the platforms eagerly awaiting lots of thrash and a honk of the horn as it departs a station. Yes of course we can make liveries ourselves and railtour scenarios so perhaps there are many who will be uninterested in such packs but I think it's a nice easy way to expand on the railtour aspect of the game and give us a chance to recreate those special moments on the railways today where just for a moment history comes alive.
The class 33 needs to be layered more, it’s a very much forgotten loco that hasn’t had the chance to play on the main line
100% agree with this. Could also be a means of bringing in locos that don't necessarily fit on a particular route in a service mode, such as a Class 25, Deltic, Class 50 or even a Class 17 Clayton!
