TRAINS Class 800/802 Intercity Express Train (IET) - These are bi-mode trains that can operate on both electric and diesel power. They are used on longer distance services along the Cornish Main Line, such as the London Paddington to Penzance route. 2. Class 150/1 Sprinter - These diesel multiple units (DMUs) are used on shorter distance services along the Cornish Main Line, such as the Plymouth to Penzance local service 3. Class 158 Express Sprinter - These DMUs are used on longer distance services along the Cornish Main Line, such as the Penzance to Cardiff route. 4. Class 43 HST + Mk3s: another set of diesel locos that do long distance regional runs in-between cornwall and wales in their shortened form, they are currently being phased out by class 800 bimode trains DLCS: DLC1: Full Cornish Mainline Drive a staggering 120 miles between Exeter and Penzance. Would serve to be a giant merger with west cornwall local, updated with a line to plymouth and set in modern day, or given a modern day timetable to give owners a full 120 mile run on the line. Riviera Line to Paignton (DLC 2) Drive on one of the most scenic routes in England as you make your way through the gorgeous Devon coast in Train Sim World 3 Railways of Devon and Cornwall in the 1970s Drive iconic BR blue stock on the mainline in-between Exeter and Plymouth and relive the glorious days of British Rail. Gains access to Valentas, and other stock that used to run on the Cornish mainline. Conclusion This would be a good diesel route for Train Sim World 3 as we gain access to more GWR content for the game, and we also can get a complete overhaul of West Cornwall Local and even a possible extension into plymouth, and it gives us access to more trains to run down into the west country. Could work as a bundle or as a single merger for TSW3 and also includes the 800 to be used on other future routes in train sim world.
Very good suggestion mate. I made a suggestion for the route in my preferred era of the 80s but the route would still be a gooden even if done modern day. I think the extra few miles to Paignton should be included for a bit of variety and completeness. Like I say brilliant suggestion!
yeah, i agree. I definitely want this in any era as well, this + an extended WCL would be great for me, i love this route one of the most scenic in england
Bring it on but standard trains should be 800/802 150/1 & 158. Reason is that GWE provides the HST if that route and WCL extended the Cornish Main line. Why not set this the same time as WCL if applicable to do so.
I wouldn’t mind the era personally, i chose modern day as we already have these trains apart from the 800, and i like the 800 a lot
Awesome suggestion, however I think if this route does ever come to tsw, it should include the branch to Paignton.
It would be nice to see castle sets in the game though, unless some third party developer makes a sliding door coach pack
Love this suggestion! Would also give the HST's the new sliding doors and gaurds pannels hopefully with this dlc. I'd love to have a proper GWR 80x and sprinters. So this route is perfect for it! I really like this suggestion! It's a great alternative to re-doing GWE to dicot or somewhere else!
Great suggestion, I think that region needs represented in TSW regardless of era, I also like the expansion ideas but I think having the Riviera Line not only to Paignton, but to Exmouth as well so you can simulate reversals at Exeter St Davids, which will add to the gameplay on the route too
The actual Riviera branch isn't that scenic, there's a couple of sea glimpses, but for the most part it's in cuttings through the Torbay suburbs. The Scenic bit is on the actual main line
I agree with the general consensus here, include the Paignton (and maybe Dartmouth..) beach, and also the Exmouth Branch. A complete link up of local and mainline for South Devon. Laira Depot for stabling and maintenance stuff too. If it’s modern day (2023) you can include the new depot at Exeter St. David’s too. The best part.. all the stock required is already an in-game TSW compatible asset, sort of.. also, the scenarios better be realistic ‘arghhhh the waves have drowned the line again’ type situations - try to battle a sea wall storm, wrong line running!
Perhaps the Paignton branch could be added to a Dartmouth Steam Railway route. This would create more mileage than the steam railway alone as well as provide more variety in terms of types/services/line speed limits.
