Running over some sernarios that I had missed, using TSW5. This EMU seems very slow to accelerate making it impossible to keep to time but worse than that as you leave Leipzip Connewitz and approach the converging junction beyond the station that train derails (every time) even at 15kpm. I will give it a try using TSW4 to see if this is a problem with 5. Has anyone tried this senario on TSW5? If so how did you get on with it? Regards Phil
There's a Troubleshooting subforum for that. And it would be very helpful if you named which exact scenario or service you're experiencing this.
Oh. RTFT. Wasn't aware it's actually called "Leipziger" Just having a go. Scenery wise, this first german route they've done is massively underrated, probably due to the issues with audio and PZB on that route. Compared to the following muddy green/brown routes (like RSN, brown track, brown houses), I do like the scenery on RT, and they took more time for that one it seems. But it didn't survive the TSW core updates, and is pretty much broken now. (I'll check against it on TSW2020 in case I'm running into the issue here.) No power but running Think RT should be labelled TSW5 incompatible.
Thanks for the replies, I've just run it again in TSW4 and the train derails at exactly the same point so I guess I cannot blame it on TSW5 lol. Just seems very odd that even with the feedback thread no-one has flagged up this particular problem. I will go over to the other thread and just add a comment.
It's possible that not many people have played this route in TSW3, TSW4 or TSW5. It's also quite possible that the route was perfectly playable in TSW2 or TSW3, and then broken by one of the subsequent "upgrades" to the core game. We know of several such issues that have appeared as side effects of "upgrades" or "bug fixes". Most recently, the 185 on Salzburg route cannot go backwards, as a side effect of the suspension changes. Do you think DTG would ever checked the back catalogue for regressions? They don't even check the issues we raise: they put out a "fix" and then ask us to verify if the fix works.
I bought the route a few months ago in TSW4 (having refunded it previously). Ripe for a makeover particularly the 1442 and its sounds but the route itself, particularly the Underground section isn't bad. Not tried it in TSW5 yet though.
Thanks for running Leipziger Spikee, strange that I derail and you don't, I will check the game files but I doubt that is the problem. My PC is a very similar spec to yours, main difference is I am running Windows 11 but again I doubt that would be a problem. Thanks again for taking the time and thanks to all that replied.
Maybe it's a mod causing this? Just for fun, playing it on TSW2020. Note that it did show you date and time of scenarios - this got removed for some reason. Love the old UI - much better. Back when DTG could afford to hire professional developers. Seems they're now giving young inexperienced (possibly cheaper) developers a chance, which is showing in the new UI imho. The voltage display was already broken in TSW2020... Display brightness also, that got fixed later. Acceleration, brakes were broken later, working fine here so the timings can be achieved. Edit: Voltage display was working (just not at scenario start)
I've just driven this scenario on PS5 without experiencing that ominous derailing. Made it (hopelessly late) to the end point. I've just found somewhat strange that the front unit felt indeed more sluggish than usual. And it would wheel slip too easily, even at lower notches. Almost as if the second unit was dead weight. Which is why I lowered all pantographs, raised them again and closed the MCBs. After that the train behaved more normal and wouldn't wheel slip like crazy. Anyway, this route is beyond repair (sounds, signaling, PZB). Although, and as Spikee1975 pointed out: The surrounding scenery is very nicely modelled and lighting is quite okay.
There is a "Disable junction derail" option in settings, that may be why some of you derail and some not.
It was raised here:- https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rapid-transit-derailment.81030/#post-833807 I even raised a ticket, but other than an acknowledgement nothing has happened... I think this route could be described as "Fire and forget" as any updates/ issues to it have been forgotten about.
Thanks Coppo, glad it's not just me, I was starting to get paranoid lol. I was using 'Leipziger' as the keyword when searching so I missed ur thread. In answer to others, I have 'Disable Junction Derail' turned on and I do not run any mods. Cheers & Beers
I just tried and completed the Scenario. I had the option to prevent derailment disabled. It wouldn't be the first time that a scenario presents bugs to some players and not to others. I'm not kidding.
This is still an issue, on Xbox x series. None of the above fixes work; derails every time any speed.
