The timetable is now available on Train Sim Community: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...timetables/i4754-rapid-transit-timetable-2023 I'm currently working on a better Timetable for Rapid Transit, which is set in 2023. For now, I created all S2/S8 services and let 3 formations run up and down the line. I made the schedule for all trains already months ago: This timetable does also include the S4, S5/S5X and S6 services as well as the RE13 Leipzig - Magdeburg. Due to the fact that Leipzig Hbf is missing, I could let AI drive the RE13 there or I use the track in Leipzig Messe for turnaround. If I do the last one, the S6 would have to drive until Rackwitz every 60 Minutes, because the RE13 takes up that space in Leipzig Messe. But for now, I am only working with the S2 and I already found issues. First one, the AI is too slow for the schedule (with expected performance of 1,0!), maybe I have to reduce the load/unload time. Currently loading time is mostly 15 seconds and the time between arrival and departure is regular 40 seconds (as it is in reality too). Anyways, next problem: the train departing 04:42 in Bitterfeld to Leipzig gets stuck while shunting to platform 6. Maybe the waaaaay too low overhead line could be the problem? I also included IC trains in the timetable. In September 2023 (TT base on 7th september), the IC trains went over Bitterfeld and Dessau. The IC Dresden - Leipzig - Magdeburg - Cologne (...) goes Leipzig - Bitterfeld - Dessau - Magdeburg while the IC Leipzig - Magdeburg - Emden/Norddeich drives Leipzig - Halle - Bitterfeld - Dessau - Magdeburg. Both lines (IC 55 and IC 56) are operated with IC2, in TSW they are operated by 101 and IC1.
I've had several issues with trains just getting completely stuck for no apparent reason. Your best option is to change the location/platform/siding and see if that works any better. Sometimes changing the formation has worked, or just deleting the instructions and readding them in. Additionally, you're best of using the within setting for platforms/preset markers.
I continued the work on the timetable a few days ago (or to be more accurate, I started again from the beginning with more experience after creating a fictional RSN timetable). Those passenger trains are now included: S2 Leipzig-Connewitz <> Bitterfeld <> Dessau/Lu. Wittenberg every 30-60 minutes, driven with 1-2* BR 1442 S8 Halle(Saale) <> Bitterfeld <> Dessau/Lu. Wittenberg every 60 minutes, driven with BR 1442 RE13 Leipzig Hbf <> Dessau <> Magdeburg every 60 minutes, driven with BR 143/146.2 + 3 Dosto (RSN/MSB required) (AI-only) RE10 Leipzig <> Cottbus every 120 minutes, driven with BR 442.2 (SKA required) (AI-only) RE7 Dessau <> Berlin <> Senftenberg, driven with 2* BR 442.2 (SKA required) (AI-only) RB51 Dessau <> Lu. Wittenberg every 60 minutes, driven with BR 143 + 2 Dosto (RSN required) (AI-only) ICE trains Berlin/Bitterfeld <> Leipzig Hbf <> Leipzig Messe/Erfurt every 120 minutes, driven with BR 406 (SKA required) The trains/stations in italics are fictional. The S2 leads in reality to Leipzig-Stötteritz, but I wont sent those trains for 2 stations into a portal while the platform 2 in Connewitz is not claimed. Also the BR 1442 with green doors are not accurate for the S2 and S8. In reality, there are Talent 2 with red doors and 3 or 5 cars. The RE13 and RB51 are also driven with those red-door-Talent 2, but I let her drive with Dosto for more variety. The Dosto were accurate on the RE13 a few years ago. The RE10 drives since December 2022 with Siemens Mireo, but there were Talent 2 with 4 cars before. The ICE 3M (BR 406) doesn't fit to Leipzig, but unfortunatly there is no other ICE with TOD3. And about TOD3/TOD4, I prefer the use of only TOD3 trains on TOD3 routes, because everything else looks just horrible and Rapid Transit is already overexposed. Those passenger trains are still planned: (AI-only) S8 trains in Bitterfeld which I left out for now because they got stuck (AI-only) IC trains Berlin/Bitterfeld <> Leipzig Hbf <> Leipzig Messe/Erfurt IC trains Dresden <> Leipzig <> Dessau <> Magdeburg every 120 minutes IC trains Leipzig <> Halle <> Bitterfeld <> Dessau <> Magdeburg every 120 minutes S4 Falkenberg <> Torgau <> Leipzig Nord <> Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz every 30 minutes S5/S5X Halle <> Leipzig Messe <> Markkleeberg <> Altenburg <> Zwickau every 30 minutes S6 Leipzig Messe <> Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz <> Borna <> Geithain every 30 minutes /maybe/ also the S1 and S3, I will see how the dispatcher can handle those trains... In September 2023, the IC trains between Leipzig and Magdeburg became redirected via Bitterfeld and Dessau, so I also included them for more variety. A few trains need to stop additionally in Leipzig Messe because Leipzig Hbf is 'unfinished'. The S5 could theoretically be driven to Leipzig Messe, but unfortunatly there is a out of bounds wall just behind Leipzig Hbf, I tried that in free roam. I care about freight trains later, after I finished that stuff... In reality, there is also a PbZ from Leipzig Hbf via Dessau to Berlin-Lichtenberg, which would also fit in this timetable but due to the lack of Leipzig Hbf, I can only start/end this train in Leipzig-Mockau... 101 040 with a PbZ to Berlin-Lichtenberg in Greppin; 10.10.2023 (picture taken be myself) The RE13 in Leipzig Messe. The AI drives those trains between Messe and Leipzig Hbf. The RE10 in Leipzig Nord. Leipzig Hbf with an ICE 3M. Leipzig Hbf with its very few tracks. There are only 4 tracks in game, that can be used by AI-trains, so there no portals where I could sent trains in.
In a stream Dovetail did on how they make their timetables, they said that there will be minor variances in performance in the game compared to real life so they suggest only using explicit start times for the services and use the simulated times for everything else, then ensure there is enough time between the end of service and the next service that formation will run. You won’t get it exact to the timetable but it will be close. This is important because if you use the real timetable times, you’ll run into huge issues and the player gameplay experience will be awful, because the player will never be able to stick to time in the game. Keep AI performance to 0.9 before you simulate too, to account for more players.
Correct. That certainly can be true, but usually it isn't. Also, the player usually isn't able to stick to AI timings because the AI sticks to track, not signal or PZB speed limits. If you simply let the simulation generate the times and use the same AI performance everywhere, every timetable will feel exactly the same. Timetables in real life, on the other hand, have much different amounts of buffer time in them. I'd recommend: Set the correct start time Do, in fact, simulate the timetable and let the AI generate the timings Compare these timings to the real ones. You want them to be a little bit quicker than the real ones over the whole run. If they aren't, adjust AI performance and re-simulate Round up all the times (with the Editor set to let timing changes propagate forward). This is both to prevent the player seeing times like "13:57:38" in the front end and to add buffer time. For German working timetables, I'd round up to the nearest full 10 seconds. Check if any driving times in the TSW timetable are much shorter than the real ones - if so, adjust accordingly Are you happy with the result? If not, go back to step 3. Test drive to account for Signal Speed Limits and PZB, adjust timings accordingly. I find that that results in a timetable that's proven to work for the AI and the player, and is much more realistic than a purely AI one.
Thanks for the advices. The problem with the Talent 2 is that the acceleration from the AI is very bad. I am a trainee at DB Regio in Rostock and if we would accelerate like the AI does, every train would be delayed. I added the S6, some AI Intercity-Services and some stock at Leipzig Hbf, cooked/exported the timetable and tried the departure/arrival times on some sections, for example the tunnel. It was very easy to be on time. I reduced the load/unload times to mostly 10 seconds and AI was (mostly) also able to keep the schedule. I rushed a little bit through the tunnel so I could make photos from a parallel departure of the S2 and an ICE in Leipzig Hbf. Some more pictures: (this parallel departure is only possible if you are around 2 minutes too early)
Yeees, thank you for working on this. Now just some madman to improve HRR and so many of the old routes will be amazing
I added most of the passenger trains, now only the S8 AI-services around Bitterfeld and the IC trains Dessau <> Bitterfeld are missing. Maybe I also add the RB50 Dessau <> Aschersleben as AI with the BR 612.
Cool, I come from Leipzig, which is on the route, and the pictures of the new timetable look really cool. Quick question: Where do the trains that end at Leipzig HBF go?
That is correct, but I don't really wanna see something like that: bennitweety#5692 the trains end on one of the few tracks Leipzig Hbf has in TSW. There are four tracks and they are used by the RE10 to Cottbus every 2 hours, the RE13 to Magdeburg every hour, an ICE Berlin <> Leipzig <> Munich every hour and an IC Leipzig <> Dessau every two hours. I finished nearly all passenger services except the RB50 because it's not worth it imo and the southbound S8 AI-services in Bitterfeld because they only get stuck ("stop off path"). Next up are the freight trains and some shunting services.
What should I say about this? Forget everything I said about freight. Probably (or hopefully, I didn't tried yet) you can still drive freight trains between Dessau and around Rackwitz. It would just make sense to drive freight trains to that little yard between Leipzig Messe und Nord, Leipzig Mockau. Unfortunatly it is just impossible to depart from Leipzig-Mockau without getting out of bounds, so everything in that direction (except AI) is impossible. That's the same reason why AI has to take over the S5 already in Leipzig Hbf instead of Leipzig Messe, because the S5 to Halle uses different tracks so you will get out of bounds. I hope that freight trains work at least north of Leipzig. Shunting in Rackwitz also doesn't work because you get out of bounds.
I'm nearly done with the timetable except for a few changes. I also created a repaint for the SKA 442, but there is a game breaking problem with it. The repaint still isn't finished, the silver has to reflect a little bit (like the RT 1442) and some decals aren't changed yet. Comparison between the SBMD1 1442 on the left and the SBMD2 1442 on the right. There is a five-car and a three-car variant. Unfortunatly the three-car variant can't become implemented correctly, otherwise the players get stuck after using the E-brake. The AI still can use that formation. Playable three-car-formations can only have 3 doors instead of 4. About the problems: If you spawn in a red-door-1442, you always have the cab without pantograph. That means, if you spawn in Leipzig-Connewitz to drive a northbound S2, you get a formation without any pantograph and are not able to drive. Is there a possibility to fix this? Next problem: if the mod is installed and you wanna drive the 442 on Köln-Aachen, you also spawn with the repaint: What went wrong here?
Die Screenshots sehen auf jeden Fall schon richtig cool aus Was mich mal noch interessieren würde, ob man in Delitzsch am oberen Bahnhof auch die S9 sieht, da die ja da entlang fährt? The screenshots definitely look really cool What I would be interested to know is whether you can also see the S9 at the upper train station in Delitzsch, since it runs along there?
For this Problem, cant you make the trainsim.cz out of bounds and borders mod a dependency for your TT mod, as that gets rid of the out of bounds game over and your TT and the mod are pc only anyway? So with this mod installed freight out of Leipzig should be playable, at least in free roam it works https://www.trainsim.cz/?mod=article&showid=2772&query=
The timetable is now available on Train Sim Community: https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...timetables/i4754-rapid-transit-timetable-2023 I left the repaint with the red doors out for now and uploaded only the "normal" version of the timetable. The S9 is not included as AI. Unfortunatly the signals on this route are often bugged. There are several signals that show a Ks 1 (only a green light, nothing else) but your train become stopped if you don't press acknowledge in time. Freight trains are particularly affected by that.
