Okay gang, looking to reinvest my Cathcart refund back in the game and the following are on the shortlist, once the credit clears. Looking for an honest opinion so I spend wisely:
    1. Class 313 - Now I've repurchased and keeping ECW, this looks like it would add a bit of variety to the endless Plasticstar procession.
    2. Class 20 - Only classic diesel purchase outstanding but has mixed reviews on Steam (quiet sounds?) and only layers on TVL.
    3. Oakville Sub - Pretty much a cert at £2.49 but again has some mixed reviews.
    4. Peninsula Corridor - Another one on the fence, reviews indicate particularly prone to the save game failure syndrome. However western USA commuter quite appealing and the sale price is nice.
    or finally:
    5. Do I blow it all on Cane Creek?

Oakville is a steal, if only for the terrific GP9M loco, one of the best in the game. Penn Corridor is also a great bargain, but you'll want to add the MP15DC switcher and the Baby Bullet to get all the variety from it. And the Class 20 should be in everybody's collection, a true classic. Best advice: get all three!

Thanks Crosstie, they're on the wishlist for when the credit clears.

Oakville I swerved on initially when it released as I didn’t like American freight. That’s changed and I bought it. It’s a quiet route and it looks like you just serve an industrial area but the trains and wagon variety is nice.

313 is a nice train to drive and adds a little variety to the electrostars.

cClass 20 can be used on some other routes as a sub. Nice to drive , can double header it too.

Cane creek, seriously? 25mph through a narrow canyon. Not for me that one

Can only agree with crossti. The class 20 is a passionate product. Fuses are working and all that.

To enhance gameplay variety you should get them all.

A bit new rolling stock together with expanding the scotrail network would be good for the cathcart map.

Great stuff. I've just bought Oakville and Peninsula plus the Mp15.
Got to sweet talk the wife now to invest in the Class 20 and 313.
Cane Creek can go back on the shelf for another time.

The only real issue with the Class 20 is that it only adds in three brand new services, which does slightly suck. But honestly I think that issue's been exaggerated, yes you get only three new services, but it appears as a substitution on a huge chunk of existing services, notably including most of the double header services on Tees Valley. When you factor in those it actually be used on twice as many services as the Class 31, which it's frequently compared to. So while the 31 has more unique services added, the Class 20 actually has more utility overall, so I think it balances out pretty well. But I'll let you come to your own conclusions.

With that said even though I've only just got Class 20 it's already became a favorite of mine. Love the sounds in particular, they're accurate, the horn has a good amount of echo to it, mixing's fairly good on the whole, although the horn could certainly be muffled more in the interior. I also like the oddball 2 in 1 (or whatever the actual term for it is) cab arrangement it has, makes it feel a lot different from the other British locos in TSW. From just the little I've played with it so far I'd highly recommend it.

I like the Class 20, but in terms of gameplay for your buck (or quid), Peninsula Corridor is absolutely the one to buy.

    (Hope you like manually-lapped brakes....)

Don't forget Oakville might benefit significantly from PennCorr+MP36 in the near future with the passenger layer, albeit not entirely accurate.

MP36 added - blowout on my Steam credit with about 30p left towards something else.
Got a lot of driving to do!
Thanks to all for their input and hope this thread has been of use to others looking how to spread their Xmas sale purchase allowance!

Baby Bullet is very good, as noted. Liked the Journey task where you have to fuel the loco, though stop point in the wrong place. Also got a UE4 crash on the next Journey, where your train suffers a HEP fault, will try again later.

Had a quick look at the 20, 313 and Oakville, all look great and plenty to get on with.
