Newbie went through the tutorial just fine. Now I'm on a task of moving 30+ cars to another depot. I'm starting out at a 0.6% uphill slope with the throttle fully engaged and all brakes are released; and I'm getting wheel slip; and it feels like the brakes are being applied somewhere. I made sure that the large handbrake on the outside of the loco is fully released as well. 1. On the far right IFD display I have hit F1; F3; F4; and then F6. 2. I have the following toggle switches turned on; Engine Run; Gen Field; Control & Dynamics; and the Gauge Lights. 3. What am I doing wrong that the loco will not move? 4.. I have checked all over the internet and I can not find what the exact IFD display should be reading since there are 2 rows of blue buttons. Any help for this newbie would be appreciated.
Look at the display, then on the keys below, and click on them with your mouse, don't use keys on the keyboard. Start with clicking on the 1 under F1. Then click on the F3 & F4, then save with F6. Make sure the display updates to show Cut In & Lead. Then exit. Don't start with full power, that will give you wheel slip. Start with throttle set to perhaps 3/5 depending on weight of train and how steep it is. Make sure both the train and independent brake are full released. If more than one loco, they need to be setup accordingly too. Use the link below for breblimator's excellent explanation on how to set up multiple units. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1o7zeIn-Nshe7_bzqkd7hQg2QrV0G9xNvBevPoxTunA8/edit#gid=0
Depending on the particular service, you may have rear helpers, which requires you to turn on banking com above your head on the radio display. I always turn it on anyway.
Thanks GrayDawg and Crosstie for your help and I will try doing those things and hopefully it will do the trick.
