Screenshot 2025-04-08 114956.jpg I Feel We Need a New Modern GWR route, And We need Reading and Bristol So I've came up with a new Suggestion that has 2 Options

GWR LICENSING - if they can't get licensed then they can do it unbranded

    Era - 2022-2025

    OPTION 1 -
Reading - Bristol Temple Meads And Westbury Via Swindon GWHS - Great Western High Speed
    Stations:
    1.
    Reading
    2.Tilehurst
    3.Pangbourne
    4.Goring and Streatley
    5.Cholsey
    6.
    Didcot Parkway
    7.Swindon
    8.Chippenham
    9.Melksham
    10.Trowbridge
    11.Westbury
    12.Bradford-On-Avon
    13.Avoncliff
    14.Freshford
    15.Bath Spa
    16.Oldfield Park
    17.Keynsham
    18.
    Bristol Temple Meads

    Trains:
    Class 800/802 IET
    [IMG]

Used For High Speed Services Stopping at Swindon and A.I Driving at Westbury
Half The IET's Going To Reading or Penzance Go through the Swindon Route.

    Class 166/165
    [IMG]
Slow trains between Swindon, Bristol Temple Meads And Westbury Shared with The GWR 158's
On the Cardiff to Portsmouth Services

    Class 158 (GWR)

Used For the Same Cardiff to Portsmouth services the 166/165's are used on

    Freight In the Form Of
Class 66's, Class 59's Class 60's, Class 70's and more.
Freightliner, DB, EWS, Colas and GBRF are examples of freight Companies

    Why This Route?
It Is Approximately 70Miles Long and has Iconic/Main stations including:

    Reading:

Busiest station on This route with services splitting to Newbury and Basingstoke, while this route going to Didcot parkway and further
A.I also can go Straight through here
A Early morning scenario being taking the class 165's from a depot and late taking them back

    Didcot Parkway:

Excellent for trainspotting freight and high speed services with A.I 165 services to Oxford from Didcot

    Swindon:

Same trains as at Didcot parkway but it also has 165/166's going down to Westbury

    Westbury:

Lots Of Yard Work, Would Make a amazing Scenario IET's Stop every while with other IET's going around the passing tracks
A nice scenario Would also be taking the Class 158 or 165/166's out of the yard

    Bristol Temple Meads:

All trains End Up here Apart from oxford and some Cardiff trains. The connecting station to Devon -(Exeter)

In general It is a big connection in the south west. The stopping services between Swindon and Westbury are Short But Fun

Watching IET's Flying Through Didcot Parkway and the few passing reading or watch freight at Westbury, Swindon and Didcot.
Guarding Would Also Work Well on this route.

    OR

OPTION 2 - Reading - Bristol Via Newbury GWC - Great Western Connect

    Stations:
    1.Reading
    2.Reading West
    3.Theale
    4.Aldermaston
    5.Midgam

    6.Thatcham
    7.Newbury Racecourse
    8.Newbury
    9.Kintbury
    10.Hungerford
    11.Bedwyn
    12.Pewsey
    13.Westbury
    14.Trowbridge
    15.Bradford-on-Avon
    16.Avoncliff
    17.Freshford
    18.Bath Spa
    19Oldfield Park
    20.Keynsham
    21.Bristol Temple Meads

    Trains:

    Class800/802
    [IMG]
Reading - Bristol services stopping mainly at Newbury, Bath Spa and Bristol Temple meads, sometimes including Hungerford and Westbury
    Class165/158 (GWR)
Drive from Westbury - Bristol on their Cardiff services and Watch them approaching from Chippenham
Guarding these would be fun. Same Scenarios as option 1 for the 166/165 leaving reading depots
    Class387

Reading To Newbury Services Really fun As stoppers and even in guard mode
Class 387's coming out of Reading traincare depot and the other depots.

    Freight - Class 66, 59, 60 or 70
Freightliner, DB, EWS, Colas and GBRF - freight Companies

    Why this route?
There is Interesting stations and lots of freight in the 21 stations In the 90(ish) miles
    These include:

    Reading

The Depot Scenarios and some A.I freight. Also A Few IET's non - stop A.I

    Newbury

Class 387's Terminating Doing the Reading Services with Guard mode

    Westbury

Obviously A trainspotting scenario and a freight scenario where you couple and manually change the points alot.

    Bristol Temple Meads

Same IET's Connecting from everywhere from here. The point Were you go to Devon(Exeter)

In general You Get the Passenger Connections from Reading to Westbury and Finally Bristol. You could guard on a IET or Class 387 from Newbury or Reading. Or you could train spot at any of the stations.

    OVERALL
I would love to see One of these routes come to the game because Westbury I personally think is one of the best stations for trains in the UK and We need a modern GWR route even if it is unbranded.

Thanks for reading, this took me 3 hours to make and I Didn't Use ChatGPT and hope others agree with me for this route

Potential layers could be the class 350 at reading representing the SWR fleet and the unbranded 345's from the stratford route.

Also Using the Skyhook EMT hst reskin into the Pullman hst for the railtours
