This is a route I would think would be very enjoyable due to its high variety with trains and service types. I will make this suggestion as if it’s a core TSW6 route with a UK deluxe loco.

    Reading to Swindon & Banbury
    ≈ 58 miles
    - 15 stations
    - 2 routes: Reading to Swindon, Reading to Banbury

    Stations on this route:
    • Reading
    • Tilehurst
    • Pangbourne
    • Gorling & Streatley
    • Cholsey
    • Didcot Parkway
    • Swindon
    • Appleford
    • Culham
    • Radley
    • Oxford
    • Tackley
    • Heyford
    • King’s Sutton
    • Banbury

    Trains included:

    GWR Class 800 IET

This would be the main train of the route, operating services from Reading to Swindon & Oxford

    GWR Class 387 Electrostar
    upload_2025-7-10_10-33-49.jpeg

This train would be a conversion of the gatwick express class 387 already in the game, operating services from Reading to Didcot Parkway (I believe that’s all this train would do in this route)

GWR Class 166 (already in TSW)
    upload_2025-7-10_10-28-50.jpeg

This train would operate services from Didcot Parkway to Oxford and Banbury, offering slower, stop/start, diesel gameplay for those who enjoy that.

The DELUXE Train: XC Class 221 Voyager
    upload_2025-7-10_10-33-59.jpeg

This train would be the deluxe loco, and would operate services from Reading to Banbury.

In conclusion, I think this would be a superb route for TSW, offering a mix of diesel high speed, electric high speed, diesel stopping services and electric stopping services.

There is a high variety of service types and trains which would make for very fun gameplay. If I have made any mistakes with the details of this route please do correct me, this route isn’t local to me so I’ve gathered most of my info from online :)

Definitely. Nice mix of GWR and XC on a mainline that we need for Modern day with OHLE

Considering we have both XC & GWR licenses this is something that would be quite enjoyable.
