Overview: The Reading to Taunton line is a railway route that runs from Reading to Taunton. The line avoids Bristol Temple Meads and joins with the Great western Main Line at Cogload Jumction. The route is 103 miles long and runs through Somerset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Berkshire. The route also includes the Frome branch, Whatley Quarry and Merehead quarry. The reason I have set it in 2008 is because I want FGW trains and I would like Reading station before it's rebuilding. Locomotive List: FGW HST, FGW class 166, FGW class 158, Foster Yeoman class 59, Freightliner class 66 (Whatley Quarry services) JHA hopper wagons, JNA wagons (stone) HIA hopper Extra information: The WSR can be extended to Taunton so that it links to the mainline and you can run railtours on it. Scenarios: Return runner: (Difficulty level 2) Drive a FGW class 166 from Reading platform 3 to Bedwyn. Drive the train into the turnback siding then drive from Bedwyn to Reading platform 2 . Loading facilities: (Difficulty level 3) Load up a train of stone at Merehead quarry using a class 59 and then drive the train to Reading, occasionally going in the goods loop to let other trains pass. Road runner: (Difficulty level 4) With there being train strikes, many of the the traffic is now on the roads. However there is a limited services on all GWR lines. You have been tasked to drive a non stop HST service from Taunton to Reading. Uniform Uncoupling: At Taunton, a four coach class 158 service is uncoupled with one portion going via BTM and the other going via newbury. Drive the train via Newbury all stops to Reading stopping at all stations along the way. Fancy Freightliner: (Difficulty level 3) Drive a freightliner class 66 from Whatley Quarry to Acton T.C as far as Readingwhere another driver will take over. However there is a late running HST service so you will have loads of red signals to face. Layers: Class 31, 20, 47, 37, 45, and 52 can be used on a railtour service, The class 08 and 09 can be used on shunting at Merehead quarry, Class 52(DLoTGW), class 101 (DLoTGW), class 47 (NTP), class 150 (WCL) and class 40 (HFP) can be used on DLoTGW services, Class 37, 40, 20, 31 and 47 can be used on DLoTGW style scenarios.
