Looking around for what options of user-generated book timetables (Buchfahrpläne) are around by now, I made an amazing discovery This website: https://joguts-eisenbahnwelt.de/ There is an upload of a real Buchfahrplan for the area west of Frankfurt. It's from 2007 but in a quick check, I didn't find any disparities with the route of the 90s in terms of speed limits. I thought there might be some people around here who would appreciate having a real Buchfahrplan to use so I took the liberty to cut out the section in TSW into separate documents. For those in need of some assistance, these are the explanations for what each column is about: 1: position along track in km 2a: maximum permitted speed for trains with a top speed of 110km/h 2b: maximum permitted speed for trains with a top speed of 120km/h 2c: maximum permitted speed for trains with a top speed of 140km/h 2d: maximum permitted speed for trains with a top speed of 160km/h 3a: notable locations along the track such as stations, signals, etc. (all the stuff ending in -sig are signals) 3b: positions of these along track in km 4a: minimum travel time to reach this location from start of track in minutes for trains going 110km/h 4b: minimum travel time to reach this location from start of track in minutes for trains going 120km/h 4c: minimum travel time to reach this location from start of track in minutes for trains going 140km/h 4d: minimum travel time to reach this location from start of track in minutes for trains going 160km/h Have fun!
not sure if I ever use it really, but you can bet I will download and study it once I get home lol thx
I'd encourage you to give it a try I had my first run with it yesterday and wholly enjoyed it. Nothing against user-made facsimiles, of course, I'm incredibly grateful for all they do, but there is something very satisfying about using actual, real documents
I tried accessing actual OBB Fahrplan(e), but they are locked behind username/password, so I guess only actual drivers can get to them :/ ... I wanted to check some for Wien - Wiener Neustadt, as that corridor/s is very impressive (about to receive extension from 4 to 6 track up to Modling)
