I'm wanting to drive the AP Class 800 on some routes. Currently only really have some basic TSC routes, including the ECML London-Peterborough. Can anyone recommend some good routes to pickup for using the Class 800? Ideally with more than 2-3 stops for it.
They are everywhere. LNER, Trans Pennine, GWR and Lumo all operate them, so basically, any ECML route. ATS Leeds lines for both LNER and Trans Pennine, Great Western Mainline for GWR. ATS Chat Moss also for Trans Pennine is also another route you could use. That should get you started. London-Peterborough is fine for these as it's on the ECML so LNER and Lumo operate class 800s on this route.
When there is a Sale on pick up the AP Class 800-803 Enhancement pack https://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/enhancements/emu_ep/class_800-803_enhancement_pack It give better functionality so you can swap between Diesel and Electric modes and other features. And reskins in to different liveries GWR, Hull Trains, LNER, Lumo & TPE. The GWR units can be seen over most of the GWR network and they run on Diesel more than Electric.
I have the AP Enhancment pack, it seems good. Are you able to swap between power and diesel in game? I thought you could only pick before the mission. On an unrelated note, I'm trying to make a scenario on the London - Peterborough route, but it wont let me select the train to place down. Barely any trains in the list?
You can change between diesel and OHLE by pressing M. https://www.armstrongpowerhouse.com/free_download/manuals/APC800EP_Manual.pdf
Please feel free to try out the scenarios from the below link directing you to steam workshop where you can drive on the Transpennine route. Steam Workshop::Class 802 Transpennine Express Scenarios (steamcommunity.com) The scenario requirements are a bit on the higher side to maintain realism.
When you are creating a Scenario the 801 is not part of the route so it must be selected Assets/DTG/Class801Pack01 and the AP 800 folder must be selected Assets/AP/C800EP
Newcastle to Edinburgh by Just Trains could be worth picking up. It's an old-ish route so some of the scenery is a little dated and the track laying leaves something to be desired, but if you want a long, high speed run it's a good shout for LNER and Lumo. https://store.steampowered.com/app/..._ECML_North_Newcastle__Edinburgh_Route_AddOn/ If you own the very old East Coast Mainline route and the Great Eastern Mainline (GEML) from Steam, you can also install this Workshop route that gives York to Newcastle plus various branch lines. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=269482608
