I was just looking at the TSW4 page on Steam and noticed that the recommended spec is actually lower for TSW4 than it was for TSW3 is this correct (Because of programming efficiencies etc....) or is there an error on the TSW3/TSW4 pages on Steam? If the specs are correct then my second question would be how are people who have a lower end spec PC found TSW4 compared to TSW3 performance wise? Worse/same/better? Steam shows the following recommended specs....... TSW3 RECOMMENDED: OS: 64-bit Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or Windows 11 Processor: Intel Core i5-11600K @ 3.9 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 3.7 GHz Memory: 16 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 with 8 GB VRAM or more DirectX: Version 10 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 50 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Additional Notes: Requires mouse and keyboard or Xbox Controller TSW4 RECOMMENDED: OS: 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11 Processor: Intel Core i5-9600K @ 3.7 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.6 GHz Memory: 16 GB RAM Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB or AMD Radeon RX 5700 with 8 GB VRAM or more DirectX: Version 10 Network: Broadband Internet connection Storage: 80 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Additional Notes: Requires mouse and keyboard or Xbox Controller
I think the specs for tsw3 are exaggerated, definitely didn't need a 3070 to play it even in 1440p. Maybe on ultra
Even then, a 2070 is still overkill for a non triple a title with no rtx. Unless you're trying to play 4k 60, then maybe it's possible
TSW4 recommended for 1080p. Not sure about TSW3 recommended. You can see full specs here - Configuring the Game +/- same.
Well, I have a three year old gaming computer with these specs: Intel Core i9-9900 @ 3.60 GHz 32.0 GB installed RAM 1 TB SSD HD 4 TB drive Video NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 8 MB GDDR6 memory What I have noted going from TSW3 to 4 is a drop in overall fps. With TSW3 I was running with all world sliders at max and was easily getting numbers in the 50 - 60 range. With TSW4, I have reduced the world sliders by one notch and am getting upper 20s to 30 max. It rarely goes over 30 fps and I do not have fps limited within the game.
IIRC, Matt talked in a TSW3 stream about the reasons for beefing up the recommended specs while leaving the minimums pretty much the same. I wonder if the recommended specs going back down for TSW4 is because there was confusion about the distinction between the two.
