Not sure if a patch has ever been promised or if the issue has just been mentioned as additional information back then, but the advanced rail shadows still haven't been applied to track switches yet. Can we hope that this will be done at some future point, or will we have to look at rail yards with even worse shadows? Are people even interested in this being patched? It seems like one of the many things at the bottom of the priority list for "reasons"...
hi. Adding this to the ini file helps: foliage.LODDistanceScale=20 r.foliage.DistanceScale=20 foliage.DitheredLOD=20 r.FoliageCullDistanceScale=4.0 r.ViewDistanceScale=5 ts2.dbg.Track.RailShadows.Enabled=1 ts2.dbg.Track.RailShadows.StartDistance=0.0 ts2.dbg.Track.SleeperViewDistanceScale=2.5 ts2.dbg.Track.SleeperViewDistanceScaleMax=5000
Wasn't aware of the rail shadows lines yet, does it fix (or improve) the rendering distance of the normal rail shadows on older routes where the upgrade isn't applied? If so, why didn't DTG think of doing that instead of making a new material to apply it to selected routes only?! Edit: Nevermind, I am quite sleepy and misread Sleeper as Shadow... WELL I guess that doesn't help much with the shadows themselves...
I don't think anyone is working on fixing that, Matt said that the shadow generation they use for it doesn't work on switches already when introducing the feature. It also seems that the new portion of DLG doesn't have it turned on at all, while the old part does.. Something something about recycling old routes at miserable quality.
