has anyone noticed that DTG have forgotten to put reigate in reigate? this is an awful attempt and must be patched in an update, so much for ‘the future of train simulation’ when they don’t know how to build a town
I was going to drive a Reigate service but don't think I'll bother, looks like DTG couldn't be bothered to finish it or if that is the finished product then they should be ashamed of themselves!
I took a 166 up there and frankly I won’t be doing it again, because it’s just a shambles. It’s a shame because when you look at Meißen, you can feel the passion, whereas when you look at Reigate you can feel the disdain someone had for being given the task.
Oh wow. I thought the flat was the only innacurate part that they fixed. Why is it that the Meiben Branch looks like it has received alot of love but this feels rushed to meet a deadline? The reigate branch is shorter than meiben too. Reminds me of the laziness that went to modelling the hs1 section on SEHS. DTG didn't even bother either from videos of the route at Victoria I've seen to put the Gatwick Express advertising on platforms 13 and 14 since those platforms are exclusively used by Gatwick Express. I don't get why if they have the licensing
There seems to be a duality. Sometimes you find small details that show that someone went the extra mile and really cared. Then, other times it's: " got to finish this before lunch". Compare Sand Patch and Dresden, which show so much attention to detail, and SEHS, which I haven't cared to play since the first week because it's so bereft of scenic elements or fine touches ( except for the sub ). Maybe it's the " yin yang " of TSW and all works for the eventual good of the game.
Reigate branch was clearly scheduled to be completed on the 1st Friday after the pubs reopened and everyone wanted to leave the office early. It was either sign off on Reigate or miss first orders.
In my opinion, the whole route just seems a bit dull and unfinished. I was very excited for it, but it’s not enjoyable at all for me. The unsatisfactory recreation of Reigate is a perfect example for that.
Yeah! BML was the first line I played and it’s far from boring. SEHS, I can understand people disliking it, but BML? No way.
What do you like most about it? I’m really open to trying new things with the route, feel like I haven’t discovered its true potential yet!
BML? Honestly I don’t really think I can help you if you’re looking for new gameplay challenges. I’m more of a casual guy; I mainly enjoy passenger mode and taking in the stations, sorry.
The true potential is the way the service mode is built. As far i understood if dtg is gonna release a thameslink cl700, they can just activate those layers instead the need of rebuilding the entire thing. I call this a step forward.
Heh, I wasn’t dissing SEHS, far from it! It’s actually one of my favourite routes, I was just saying that I could see why people disliked it.
I haven't forked out the money for the Reigate expansion for TS20xx [and probably won't]. Did they at least put more of a finishing touch to that one? I do agree BML is definitely up there in the top, services 100% adding to it's enjoyment. I think if the Services were a 2nd thought like most Routes [I've played so far] giving the feel of being a Ghost Town, I'd honestly say I wouldn't enjoy it as much. They really need to push more for future [and current] the Services in Routes, as it does add so much more to the content, and the price, despite having to spend that extra development time on it, in the end they will at least be praised with their efforts.
