I have got an idea for the Dresden Flughafen Branch, supposed to come to TSW2 when TSW2 Rush Hour released. When DTG announced a new Season Ticket for the Rush Hour DLC pack, they did have bad news for Nahverkehr Dresden, the branches to Meissen and Dresden Flughafen were taken down, causing confusion and delay and major outrage from players. Now, with no Dresden Flughafen and Meissen branches, this route easily became ruined and the least liked in the Rush Hour package. Their blamed excuse for this was due to the Dresden Airport tunnel needing light baking, which would have egregiously taken a long time to do. The community thought to themselves "What have DTG done badly to us?" and even the community felt ashamed of themselves because of DTG's actions. But days before DTG released the route, they published a roadmap on the 7th of September and they decided to add the Meissen branch back onto the route, after they felt sorry for removing the branches nearly 2 months ago. With this announcement, the community began to feel brighter, ecstatic and to cheer up again. Then TSW3 released a year later and DTG added a new feature called eye adaptation, just for the three base routes (Cajon Pass, Kassel-Wurzburg & Southeastern High Speed). Eye adaptation means when the light in the outside flashes when the train zooms out of a tunnel and your eyes adjust fully. I figured that if Nahverkehr Dresden had a big upgrade i.e., adding the TSW3 weather and volumetric skies if adding a new loco or a new loco DLC pack, they can have eye adaptation used in the Dresden Flughafen tunnel and they can have better light baking like they used at NY Penn in NY-Trenton. I hope that you all agree with me and if this post gets more and more views and likes, we could actually reach over to DTG, getting the proposed route prospect again once and for all
This can work for a true Nahverkehr Dresden the airport Branch should run to Pirna if the original Riesa-Dresden needs to run to Bodenbach (Decin) via Elbtalbahn K.Sächs.Sts.E.B KkStb Austrian side. Present-day DB CD Czech Railways since they own the Sggmrss in-game.
It's an interesting route with many different branches. You can also run shortened sections, or add a bit more. I'd also like to take the high-speed line towards Berlin.
I think it would be good if they: added loco, route improvements and with all that the S2 branch for the price like IOW 2022 since you have a route expansion sort of! ICE-T as stock would make a lot of sense adding it to this route!
Meißen wasn't developed by DTG, per say. It was two people, Ed and Lukas who took it upon themselves - for the most part - because they didn't want it to go to waste, I would guess because of its lovely scenery. The Airport would offer nothing of the sort, and if they didn't do it, I don't think anyone else would. Also, a payed route extension has never happened to date on TSW. SEHS doesn't count, due to a different context.
This wouldn't really be a route extension. The trackage to the airport is already there, the signaling is already there. What it does need is the scenery and a timetable to support it. In fact, you can drive on the branch currently with the Test Timetable Enabler, this is the Airport station here:
I'm not suggesting a paid route extension, this would be a free update like how they did when they added the Meissen branch
Enlighten me Really wouldn’t expect it to be a free update, Meissen was an exception because IIRC I believe Ed and Lukas did a lot of the work? A similar situation is Sherman Hill. Track 3 already has the track and signalling done on it, just no scenery or a timetable to support it. With the TODv4 upgrade Sherman got, it didn’t receive a free upgrade to add the scenery to Track 3, it didn’t receive changes to the timetable, heck it didn’t even get cab signalling fixed. Plus DresdenRiesa has TOD3.5. Ed already commented that DRA would be a difficult route to add TOD4 too.
Underground, but not underground. Also i also want the Dresden Airport branch on DRA, tho i don't have DRA yet!
I would definitely support this! We can also layer TSG's 232 and have it go as far as Dresden-Klotzsche!
