    Obviously announcement dates aren’t made until at least 1-2 weeks prior to the realise of DLC but I just wanted to know if anyone knows/can guess when routes would be released. Such as Cardiff network, I know it’s in the early stages but I’d like to know if anyone knows roughly how far away it’ll be, will it be 3 months? 5 months? a year? I know a lot of people don’t have answers for this I’m just curious:)

    Given that Cardiff hasn't had any stock announced yet, I'd estimate that it will be coming sometime in February or March. The Great Western Express Remaster, given the many screenshots, I think will come just before or after the new year. The Dutch route will probably come around end of June or beginning of July. As for the German route, that'll probably be out in May. The Worcester MBTA route will probably come to us in April, with Preston Carlisle being released as DLC for TSW6.

    I mean seriously. They are mad for making a route like Preston-Carlisle. That route is nearly as long as Kassel-Wurzburg!

    In the software development world you never know what will happen. Anything that is at least 3 months away can easily slide to 6, 9 or 12 months, so we can't give you a date.

    DTG has said several times that, in general, it takes them around 9 months to make a route, approximately 3 of those months is when the team is heavily focused on it (dedicating lots of resources and man-hours).

    Take this as a guideline, but no promises.

    I would disagree on Preston Carlisle, I reckon (ok hope may have been a better word) it'll be late November/early December and I am sure I saw Liam say that GWE is very close to being ready to ship so this makes me think it could be out by the end of October. Of course these guesses are just that, guesses. Stuffed with hope too!:D

    I would say 4 to 6 months for Wales so not likely this year.

    I suspect we will see MBTA first so probably November and maybe the Mannheim and JT route before Xmas.

    But the Wales not until late January after the Xmas break. We will probably see more on the Dutch and other routes during the Festival of Rail in February.

    Just from what this graphic shows MBTA is in the 0-3 months and the rest is not.

    I don’t think Carlisle is a year away. From the screenshots the route looks to be well into development and pretty well put together. If not a Christmas gift I’d say early next year; despite its length JT seem to now have a grasp on UE so all the time they spent figuring out the tools for BPO should be gone now, and they were confident enough to label it as their first TSW 5 route

    For UK routes here's what I think:
    I'd say October for GWE remaster, November for ATS' route and JT's Preston-Carlisle. (if last year's JT release in relation to the game release was anything to go by.)
    Matt indicated before that the Cardiff route was still early in development, so I'd say that'll be geared for a March release next year.

    GWE and Preston-Carlicle by the end of the year.
    The rest early next year.

    Likelihood is around October/November time as this fits in with when Blackpool branches was released last year baring in mind way just trains work methodically on the seemingly annual release and that’s the awesome thing they put so much time into routes for small dev team yet the actual awesome product never far away after announcement and there dev blog updates

    I would take the September release date for TSW and then add two months for every DTG route, giving you a rough estimate.
    MBTA = November
    Pf. Ludwigsbahn = January
    Cardiff = March
    Spoorlijn = May

    After that, the content is going to slow down as DTG prepares the launch routes for TSW 6.

    I'm sure they release a route/stock once or twice a month. They want the cash

    Just look at last years release timeline and I guess you get a good picture of when most of the stuff comes.

    With potentially five or six routes needing several discreet visits to Sainsbury’s to buy Steam gift cards to feed my wallet, some indication would be good as I don’t want to blow my credit on something else, to find WCML and the Dutch route drop a week later.

    At the moment it’s quite vague. My purely personal thoughts are…
    We will see at minimum a 4 or 6 week bedding in period for TSW5, so unlikely to be anything before late October.
    From what Matt’s said, I get the impression Cardiff City is a good way off and still early stages of development. Got a feeling that will be in a similar slot to Goblin this year, so maybe February or March.
    WCML Shap, fairly confident this would not have been announced in such detail unless it was getting close to ready. So I would say November or early December - a good one for JT and DTG to have hit the stores for the run up to Christmas.
    The Dutch, German and MBTA routes somewhere in the middle, staggered between November and March.
    Very little has been said about the TSG route so thinking that is another one in the early stages, so going for Spring - April or even May.

    Can''t you get your wife hooked on candy crush and blame Steam expenses on her candy crush addiction? No more discreet visits to Sainsbury's :D

    Or alternatively big bunch of flowers, that dress she’s wanted in x shop for ages and your golden for a few months. I have found if I treat my wife she is very happy to ignore sheer amount of TSW stuff I ‘need’

    In the interview Lukas has actually said that this new TSG route will release towards the end of this year / beginning next year.

    Would guess somewhere between October and November roadmaps. Gives time for more tempting screenshots etc in October roadmap

    As the GWE remaster is complementary though, not one that needs to be budgeted for. Welcome any time!

    She already plays Hay Day, SimCity Build It and Clash Of Clans on the iPad so yes an Apple voucher bribe could be the way to go…
