The C-2 line of Cercanías Madrid runs 64.5 km along the Henares corridor of the Community of Madrid and part of the province of Guadalajara between the Guadalajara and Chamartín stations passing through the Atocha station. On its route it runs through the municipalities of : Guadalajara (1 station) Azuqueca de Henares (1 station) Meco (1 station) Alcalá de Henares (3 stations) Torrejón de Ardoz (2 stations) Coslada (2 stations) Madrid (9 stations). At peak times, trains run directly between Guadalajara and Chamartín using the contour line between San Fernando de Henares and the north of Madrid, making fewer stops. These services are called CIVIS and stop in Chamartín, Torrejón de Ardoz, Alcalá de Henares, Azuqueca and Guadalajara. During the school period, a CIVIS University train circulates every day that stops at Alcalá de Henares University. Since November 5, 2018, it shares its entire route (except the CIVIS branch) with the C-8 line. Before, the trains continued beyond Chamartín as C-8 trains towards Cercedilla, some even following as Media Distancia trains towards Segovia.
