Hello to all friends of the railroad ! Today I come to propose a new route suggestion. In this case it is the Line Rer A in Paris:

    Let's start !!!

    1) History

After many years of study, construction began on July 6, 1961 with the opening of line A on December 14, 1969 of the Nation - Boissy-Saint-Léger section. This section starts from a new underground station under Place Nation and uses the old Vincennes line to Boissy-Saint-Léger. The section of this old line from Boissy-Saint-Léger to Verneuil-l'Étang has fallen into disrepair.

A few weeks later a second underground section was opened between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and La Défense, which was extended east to a new underground station, Auber, on November 23, 1971.

On October 1, 1972, it was extended from La Défense to the west using, from Nanterre, the old line from Paris to Saint-Germain-en-Laye of 1837, re-electrified by catenary at 1500 V DC.

Finally, on December 9, 1977, the Auber - Nation section was opened, crossing the center of Paris underground, with the new Châtelet-Les Halles station where a large Metro-RER interchange and Gare de Lyon were created, an underground complex under the station of the same name of great lines. Thus, the two sections of line A were joined, completing the original route.

A few years later ramifications were added:

    - East to serve Marne-la-Vallée and the Disneyland Paris Park. In December 1980 the first section was opened to Torcy (then Torcy-Marne-la-Vallée) and in 1992 it was extended to Marne-la-Vallée serving the Disneyland Paris Park. An intermediate station was opened on this section in 1992, and it would not be until 2001 when the last new station on line A, Val d'Europe, was opened.

    - To the west to serve Cergy and Poissy from the Nanterre-Préfecture station, the branches diverging to each of these municipalities west of Maisons-Laffitte. This branch was incorporated on May 29, 1988, with one branch being extended to the new Cergy-Le Haut station in 1994.

Line A is the suburban transport line with the highest density of rail traffic and the highest demand in the world excluding Japan. More than a million travelers are transported on weekdays. This influx has quickly saturated the line, initially equipped with a BAL signaling system until RATP delegated to SIEMENS the realization of a new signaling and driving aid system, the SACEM, in operation since 1989. This has allowed to increase noticeably the frequency in rush hours. The commissioning of the double-decker MI2N "Alteo" (Z20K) trains has made it possible to increase the capacity of the line.

However, given the increase in demand, the construction of RER line E was justified, practically doubling line A. The hypothetical expansion project to the west would lighten line A and double the frequency of trains to Cergy and Poissy

    2) Route Map :

This is the route map .
The entire line would be 108 km, which is not really that much when the longest route is 96 km. They are 108 km including from end to end plus what each Branch measures

    3 : Rolling material :

The RER A line is operated with 3 types of trains
The trains that circulate on the line are the following:

    A) MI 2N

    B) MI 09

    c) MI 84

    4: Other technical characteristics:

In the central section of the line, trains run in ATO mode. When they leave the center section they return to Manual driving.

    5 : Frequencies

Depending on the time of day, the line offers different services.

Depending on the time of day, the line offers different services.

    1. During rush hour in the morning, each of these trains runs with a frequency of 10 min

    2. At rush hour in the afternoon, each of these trains runs with a frequency of 10 min

    3. At off-peak times, the trains run every 20 minutes

5 min on the central section (Nanterre-Préfecture <> Vincennes).
    10 min in branches A1, A2, A4 and common section A3 / A5.
    20 min in branches A3 and A5

    6 : Videos:

I am going to leave you a few videos of the line so that you can see a little about the suggestion that I am making.

this has been all boys and girls. A very strong greeting and until next time!

Brings back good memories, in my student days (late 90's) I took the RER A every weekday from Chatou/Croissy s/seine to La Defense.
Would definitely be cool to relive this in TSW2

As this line is managed by two different operators ( RATP & SNCF ) it would be almost easy to do it as DTG already own the license but the RATP is quite though to give it especially as there’s the logo on both MI2N-Altéo/MI09. There’s currently two rolling stock actually that are the two I mentioned before, the MI84 is gone ( thank god this train is a disaster ) since 2017 as some were scraped or sent to the line B. As being a regular user of the Line A the rolling stock was conceived to enter a station at 100kph and leaving it under 40 seconds as in the central section in Paris you can have a train every minute sometimes in peak hours. But nonetheless I would love to see this line in the game

Excellent idea and for these trains They're equipped for 25kv 50hz 1.5kv DC VACMA which is basically the French equivalent to Germany SIFA in addition to KVB SACEM. SACEM works like Hauptstrecke München-Augsburg S-Bahn LZB. For the art department they need to render the tunnels correctly.

DTG already have a license for SNCF but RATP...
That would be quite complicated because this surburban railway had 2 operators.

There’s the GOA2 automation system in addition to the SACEM and also both MI2N Altéo and MI09 are fitted with KCVB not the KVB, I wonder if they’ll succeed to replicate these different systems.
