    Hi all!

When driving the BR101 and using the cabcar, I love to use the guard controls. However, it seems like that either I am using the guard panel wrong, or there is something else. How did I encounter this issue?

I am on PC, service IC(1216) from Salzburg to Rosenheim. When starting the serivice, I leave the door control enabled in the cab car and keep the door selector lever to lock both sides. Then, I move to the door behind the cab and use the guard key to unlock the correct side of the doors. Now, the doors will open. I can also close them using the guard key and I close the final door by clicking the red door close button.

When arriving into Freilassing, I brake and the train stops. However, now the doors will open without any input. The door selector knob is still selected to lock both sides and I didn't release the doors from the guard panel.

Is there anyone who can tell me if I am following correct procedures? Can't seem to find anything I am doing differently according to the manual (Or I am just a terrible reader ;) )

    Thank you!

Ps. If this is the same issue as has been described in the other forum post, I apologize in advance. I have limited time reading the forum.

I believe this is intentional, you can find a description of the developer intentions here: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/br101-expert-some-clarification.83254/

"On initial release the doors will open by themselves when unlocked and a platform is adjacent (and the doors that are opened are randomly selected as to simulate passengers opening the doors rather than all being opened, and at the same time). But, the doors still need to be closed by the driver, as in other German locomotives in TSW."

Thank you kindly Chris for the response. So based on your (and the developer) response, it's intentional that the door open by themselves when I am at a platform? This does not happen when the door selector in the cab car is on and the door selector is set to lock both.

Does this mean I leave the door control selector in the cab on or off? Because when it's off, I can't seem to lock the doors properly. When it's on, I can close them properly but can't use the guard controls to lock them (well yes I can use them, but they will still open if I don't lock them, they open in time which is described by the manual).

The only thing I can do is to unlock the doors to the proper side, then close the doors using the guard panel, and finally lock the doors using the cab switch. But then I close the doors 2 times.

I think it's better to summarize my question as followed: How do I properly use the guard panel for opening and closing the doors, and what to do with the door control knob in the cab car?

You unlock the doors to the correct side from the cab. Then they randomly open. You can use the guard panel to close the doors and then your door. Finally, you have to remove the clearance by locking the doors in the cab.
