I've been driving the ACS-64 and all of a sudden I hear a beep, and I look on the HUD and the ! symbol goes yellow, so I press Q but it just reappears instantly. I spam it, it still stops the train. I hold Q down, it still stops the train. I'm clueless at the moment. Any help is appreciated.

Have you checked in *Your drive letter*:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\RailWorks\Manuals for a user manual?

Just did. It just says to press Q or press it in the HUD. I tried doing it both on the HUD and with the keyboard. However I still have the alerter issue where it just keeps coming back no matter what I do.
If it helps, here is a video of my issue.

Its warning you that you have a speed restriction coming up and you need to slow down (you were still accelerating towards a 45mph limit). When the alert sounds, acknowledge it and put brakes into suppression. If it sounds again, acknowledge it. You need to be at the speed limit by the time you get to the reduction.

I learnt this by playing TSW2 and using it on the Boston-Providence route. It also helped that I watched a few videos when it was released which explained the use of ACSES and ATC.

It works the same in the M4, M2 and M8, same with the NJT stock, when the alerter warns you about a speed reduction you have to apply more than 40% of brakes in order to stop it pressing Q. You will see the required speed in an indicator in the cab (in the case of the ACS 64). In other locos or EMUs the speed is indicated with code letters (R is for 15 for example, I don't remember the others but you can check on the manuals)
