[resolved] Layers Are Broke Now

Hi!

I like layers, but not on the way that only dostos from main seppert bahn are usable, while the exactly same dostos are in another route, but they don't count as a layer

Like some routes only layer the br 363 from rhur sieg nord,
while nahverkher dresden also has the 363 but this one doesn't layer
BUT IT IS THE EXACT SAME LOCO!

so now I can't drive hauptsrecke rhein rhur whit dostos, because I dont own main seppert bahn. BUT I HAVE
3 MILLION WHIT THE SAME DOSTOS BUT I CANT USE THEM

this is frustrating, because it says dostos are a layer, but only from damn main seppert bahn

While the same train may be used on more than one route, they're actually different, only similar in appearance. Each route is technically its own world, so the trains are unique to each one.

The MSB version is not the same as the HRR version.

Rurh Sieg Nord was a TSW2020 release DRA came later. The RSN 363 layered onto routes that featured before DRA. So the DRA version cannot be used as it is incompatible.

To put it simple, the later versions of a train cannot be used because they came after their predecessor provided a layer to a route.

 

The layer system is not broken, it's built like that intentionally. And the explanation of jack#9468 makes a lot of sense.

Only solution is to gradually build up your route collection so that all stuf is available. Wait for a sale, there are frequently (big) discounts on older routes. It helps to focus on one area (UK/mainland Europe/US) at a time, as layers are rarely used across these areas (exceptions being TGV duplex on SEHS and class 47 railtour on Semmeringbahn).

 

thanks for the info. Some locos are upgraded or reworked so this is no problem anymore so dobbelstock from other routes was just a tiny different
