Some trains seem to be ignoring power requirements in free roam at the moment, I have tried driving various electric trains on Niddertalbahn including a BR143, Vectron, and a Class 375, and they all work, despite there being no third rail or overhead power lines. If you open and close the circuit breaker they don't get power any more, as one would expect. Meanwhile, other trains don't work at all, such as the ones on this list.
