PS5 [resolved] Tsw5 Deluxe No Import Profile

ran tsw4 earlier today
at 12:02 or so, TSW5 says
Failed to connect ...
but it insists on a profile being created
then
LOVE
new profile is there, but when do connect to DTG on a game restart, Switch Profile does not offer Import option.

So, delete this version on the 17th and try again ?

 

I've had no problem importing my profile over from tsw4 to tsw5

First thing I noticed when I opened the game was that there was no import of my profile from TSW4. Is this just an early access thing (I hope)?

 

I have the same issue, the profile I created when starting TWS5 is not the same name as my TSW4 profile. This is no option to import a profile only create a new one on the profile screen. I have logged out and into DTL and still no import option.

PS5, TSW5 Special Edition, TSW4 PS5 version installed.

 

I just posted a thread about a problem importing profiles from TSW4 to TSW5. So I should start a profile in TSW5 with a different name? With the old profile come into play during early access or after? (Thanks for your assistance.)

Also, do you need TSW4 on the same drive as TSW5? I have it copied to my PS4 backup drive to save space, but I can rework that if I need to. tx.

 

It should be available, but you may need to have TSW4 installed for it to work. (Just a guess)

 

Ah, ok. I have it copied to my PS4 backup drive. I'll have to shuffle around with my MLB the Show game to bring TSW4 back on the PS5 console.

 

It let me import my profile no problem. Were you running TSW4 on PS4 or PS5?

 

I had it on the PS5 console, but I copied it to the PS4 backup a day or two ago to save space. I'll have to juggle my MLB The Show game around to get TSW4 back on the console.

 

Import profile is also not showing up for me, PS5 Deluxe Edition

 

Mine made me make a new profile too - Level 1. And I’m coming from TSW4 PS5 version where I was level 225.

Deluxe version, preloaded it last night.

My correct profile is still showing up on TSW4. Some guidance from DTG would be helpful here, I don’t want to accidentally overwrite my old one.

 

So I recopied TSW4 (the bare game without the add-ons) back to my PS5 console. I also had deleted the profile I had named after my old TSW4 profile. Still no option to import the old profile. I should also mention I have the Deluxe version.

I own TSW 4 and I have downloaded TSW 5 (Deluxe). My DTGlive account is linked correctly on TSW5, however my character and progress is nowhere to be found. I’ve tried deleting the TSW 5 data from my PS5 to restart from scratch but I am still just prompted to create a new character. What should I do?

 

On TSW4 I'm level 1,133 on the PS5 and got onto tsw5 on the PS5 I had to start back at Level 1. Will there be an import profile coming soon?

It should already work, but you may need to have TSW4 installed for it to work. Also make sure that you don't already have a profile with the same name.

 

Just to add to what is here, no import profile option on PS5 (Deluxe) running TSW5 version 1.005.000, with TSW4 and owned DLC fully installed on the same (stock/internal) drive. My DTL photos and Mastery are still correct in game, so the DTL account linking is fine. Just no option offered on first (or subsequent) launch to import the profile from TSW4. PS5 restarted and same result.

Deleting TSW5 save date from storage does not bring about import prompt, instead asking for the creation of a new profile upon subsequent launch.

 

I am having the same problem as Chris B. TSW4 and TSW5 Deluxe are both installed on the internal storage, but I never receive a prompt to import my profile, regardless of what name I use. I've tried deleting the TSW5 saved data but still don't get an option to import a profile. I am stuck until this is fixed. I'm very frustrated and disappointed that I won't be able to make progress on my profile during the early access period. This should not have happened!

Furthermore, DTG really needs to be syncing our profiles into Dovetail Live anyways. We shouldn't have to rely on local storage for our profile. All of that should be stored in the cloud so that players can have their profiles traverse devices and even different platforms if they choose.

DTG-Chris, is there any update on when this will be fixed? Those of us experiencing this are extremely bummed out!

Yeah, I still have tsw4 installed along with everything I own. I also created the new profile but alas it didn't work.

 

I'm not sure I should play TSW5 until this is resolved. I don't see any way that if the old profiles are finally integrated into TSW5 some play won't get lost. But I really hope I'm wrong.

 

I am having the same issue. I just played tsw 4 yesterday on my PS5, went to tsw 5 today and it asked me to create new character , absolutely no option to import.. really disappointing we already have to wait until the 17th to bring over our old routes and locos, I figured I'd get some time on the new routes but it's pointless since I cant even transfer my profile...disappointment all day from dovetail

You are correct. I expect that DTG will correct this profile import problem for us soon, but any progress that you make right now will not be included once we are finally able to import our TSW4 profiles.

I had no issues on PS5, I was able to import my profile and everything was as it was before. Same level and everything.

 

my TSW 4 routes and locomotives did not appear in the game.
I Download all the packages but nothing from the TSW4.

 

I know it may not help some of you with the current issue, but below is what should have happened when you first launched on PS5 if you previously had profiles created

 

on PS5 my TSW5 deluxe profile name is not what it was on PS5 TSW4, but i have other profiles on PC and XBox. Must every profile everywhere be unique ?

That's quite helpful, thank you. That initial screen, with the Import Profile button to the left of Create New Profile, never shows up in my case, as noted above; only Create New Profile appears. There's also no ability to import profiles later when Switching Profiles via Player Profile/Switch Profile. I wonder if there's just some check that isn't being done to see if prior profile data exists, though obviously it works in many, likely most, cases on the PS5.

 

Yeah when I fired it up on PS5 (deluxe) it didn't show the import. It just went straight to the select character model and name, then pick the beginner etc level, and then straight into the game with a new character at Level 1 and no option to import. I just tried again by deleting my save data and starting the game from scratch and it did the same thing. Very odd since I have TSW4 installed even and never had an issue with this in past TSW on PS5.

Also now whenever I launch the game or am doing something where it would safe progress it gives me this error which I think must be related somehow:

 

As far as the legacy content goes, none of that stuff was available in early access in previous years.

 

I can confirm that I am in the Americas (Canada) and have the issue.

Having the same issue as well (also in the U.S.). Installed PS5 Deluxe Edition with Build Number 601.

 

I tried that and still no luck, I even moved tow 3 and 4 to the same drive just to see and still my old profile won’t come up. I have no option to even manage profiles or upload. Maybe we have to wait until the 17th. If that was the case then there should’ve not have early access if you can even get your profile.

 

They're aware of the issue. Further back in the thread, DTGChris said they're investigating it.
