    A true legend I met in in York at the national railway museum to celebrate the Intercity 125 years ago! He gave a speech and went round talking to people even signing a 125 leaflet for people!

    With the HST, he made himself immortal. Unique and iconic. Somehow for me, seeing "faces" in cars and trains, the HST always comes across as if it was slightly smiling at you.

    This is very sad news, he were a lovely gentleman and had some lovely conversations with him over the years.

    Only found out a couple of hours ago may he rest in peace and may his designs last till the end of time.
