I've found that resuming saved scenario is very hit and miss. I was in middle of Blue Peter "Running in Trials" from Crewe to Llandudno. First time I resumed, all I got was the track and scenery with no train or controls. I've just tried again and this time it crashed. This isn't an isolated incident. Am I doing something wrong or do I misunderstand how save/resume should work?
Yup - it's pretty broken. Just restarted the scenario and saved it about 5 minutes in. Tried to restart and once again, stuck with the birds tweeting by the track, no controls and no train. So basically I have to literally sit for two hours running this scenario?
This is darn annoying. So I can't save scenarios but it randomly crashes with errors like this :-( My desktop is a new AMD Ryzen 7 with new motherboard and AMD Radeon RX 580. Okay so not the latest graphics card but it's not that bad.
If you are trying to save the game stop the train first. There are a lot of scripts to load with some types of train and route.
As per 749006, I've also been told resume is more reliable if you 'F2' whilst stopped rather than with the train underway. When playing a scenario I usually save a few times whilst stopped at stations.
Hmm... just had the same problem resuming a scenario right at the very start, stood still just as the doors shut :-(
How does one report a bug like this? I've just driven LNER A2 "Blue Peter" all the way from Chester to Holyhead which takes over 1.5 hours. I'd successfully saved the scenario at Bangor and that resume worked. I stopped just outside Holyhead to save it because a bit of tight shunting is needed at the end of the scenario and I cocked it up last time. Cocked it up again so restored. Same problem - no train! So now I've lost the saved scenario at Bangor so I need to start the whole thing again. This happens all over - I don't know whether this is a bug with TSC or Dovetail's DLC? It's starting to annoy...
Would it also be sensible to have a history of saved scenarios? Are scenarios saved locally or in the cloud? If the former, would restoring a backup work?
You can usually see your progress in Locoswap. If it doesn’t show there then your save did not activate correctly
I have encountered this several times in TSC myself now, first thought being, “Where the fudge did my train go?” Seems a bit random but in line with what has been posted always after saving on the move, though not necessarily with scripted locos. Had it on one of the Chinese routes (no great loss, that one) and the Pegnitz route in Germany with the 218. As we don’t know what, if any, developer time DTG are allocating to TSC (they also seem to largely given up on TSW!) chances are this is not something which will get investigated let alone fixed.
