With the release of the London to Brighton route with ‘Rush Hour’, I have the idea of how to use the route going forward, with the ability to use older stock including freight, that have previously used the line during that time. TSW2 already has the East Coast-way available, which I believe will enhance the benefits of producing the older stock from that era as it could then be used on both routes. Potential Loco’s to be considered: Class 73 (Various uses including ‘Thunderbird’) Potential Multiple Units to be considered: 4 VEP 4 CIG 4 BIG 5 BEL (Brighton Belle 5 Car Unit) 4 SUBS (Summer Specials) Class 460 (Junipers) Coaching Stock to be considered: MK2 Coaches (GatEx Livery for Class 73) Class 489 GLV (GatEx Livery) Freight stock can also be enhanced on this route, with yards at various points, with a wide variety of wagons and brake vans to choose from. The additional benefits would be the ability to use locos already available within TSW2 such as 47’s, 37’s and 08’s. This I believe would increase player experience. This has already been done with the ‘Diesel Legends’ on the Great Western Mainline….. What a great addition it would be to London To Brighton, if similar could be achieved…. Thoughts?
Yes and for a Classic Third rail Top Contact 750v DC train 402 HAL. Remember that train is a downloadable content for the train simulator 21 version of Brighton Main Line.
Please no more GWB-style packs, I held off from buying GWB after seeing how bad it was. No HST (although I understand why), No changes to the route (Signs, Posters, Removing PIS, Oyster Pads, OHLE etc.) and overall it felt like a glorified Railtour using pre-existing trains. The only advantage this would have (I'm just going to call it SEL: Southern Electric Legends) is that the rolling stock is all new. However even at that there are likely to have been substantial changes to the route since the era of these locos. I'd only consider this if it came with the appropriate changes to the line.
Fully do understand your comment but reason I said it for this is on the line not much has changed so it does give it a slight advantage I think with other locos and different stock it would be more fun to play and having a timetable maybe for that possible time ere to fit in also like I said it would also be compatible for the other route released in the east coastway
A great idea. Although the route was different in that era, it will be too much to have multiple versions of routes. The older stock is however, much easier to accomplish and would still be functional on the real life modern route. I would rather have as many TOPS classes as possible to use rather than perhaps 4 or 5 variations of the same routes. I enjoyed DLGW as I finally got to thrash the Western on its original home line out of Paddington and I am sure I will enjoy variations for use on other routes.
Sister game Train Sim 21 gives 402 HAL then a gatwick Express bundle Class 73 with Class 489 GLV and Class 442
I would like to see a classic Southern region route I even made my own suggestion for a ECW and BML in the 80s i would love old SR EMUs
