The Great Central Railway was a railway running right through the English Midlands and was established in 1897 with several railways coming together and forming the GCR.Today the preserved mainline is split in two sections and are reuniting in the future and hence if this came to TSW that would also be in the future. In 1923 this company was amalgamated to form the LNER before becoming BR in 1948 and then being demolished by the Beeching acts in 1969 and then preserved in 1973 (Leicester) and 1990’s (Nottingham). Once this connection is complete the whole route will be 18 miles. Speeds are 25mph but 45mph isn’t rare to see but 60mph on private test trains Royal Mail trains for demonstrations GCR(N) has a connection to the MML If I were to guess the locomotives in the future these are going to all be steam that I will suggest (If they aren’t in overhaul soon) but let’s start with the layers 8F 48305 from PF or SoS. And that’s it Maybe 48624 as well 6990 Witherslack Hall 92214 City of Leicester 68067 Austerity 0-6-0ST
Quite honestly I would prefer it to be done in the old days when it was still a BR mainline in the 50s or 60s, or even better an LNER mainline in the 30s. Still a great suggestion though mate!
Excellent idea of overall if you want to go even strange for a downloadable content you might as well put in the Top Gear Audi S8 Caravan Train. Speaking of this one this can also be called Derwent Valley Line. Basically you will need either West Coast Main Line Liverpool Crewe 1958 or 1963 Derwent Valley Line to run 48305 here
No way jose. What a terrible idea. It would have to be the TGV12 sports train! If memory serves me right GC's peak is a 45/0 and so could (with a bit of modification) be put on PFR, I also believe they have a rat which would make a much better DLC that the TG car train things. The 101 could also be refreshed to a different livery and layer in.
What's the problem of James May and Richard Hammond's Audi S8 Caravan Train. The last one is their Scum Class carriage. You're saying Jeremy's TGV 12 which is a Jaguar XJS on Rails. How about TSW 3 GCR Top Gear Pack comes with James and Richards Audi S8 Jeremy's Jaguar XJS and Class 10 shunter BR Blue
To be honest I would love to drive on the GCR in the 30s/40s/50s/60s but I would love to drive on the GCR during the Edwardian era or late Victorian
So long as Catesby Tunnel is included. I passed through the structure in 1980 on a Suzuki 100cc motorcycle, long before it was turned into the current automotive test track.
