Many, but not all, "stop at location" markers require you to drive past (that is you, the driver not the nose of the train) before the objective registers. Not only does this generate a lot of cursing when you "bullseye" a stop and find you're 1 yd short so it doesn't count, but it can get really hairy when there is a buffer or red signal immediately after the marker (in some cases, less than 5 yards past) I'm not sure why they all are not programmed the same way- the objective registers as long as you stop within X distance.
Spent so many minutes sweating because the stop marker was just a few metres in front of a red signal, that really needs a rework!
I agree with your points solicitr. The stop markers are too finicky for my taste and some are just placed nonsensical. Anyone who's ever driven a west-bound freight service on HRR knows what a stop marker placed too close to a signal looks like
I Had to stop at hudderfield and I just barely gone past the red signal when I stopped but I failed I flipped my s h i t
If the stop sign is very close to the traffic light, it is very difficult with a heavy freight train to hit this sign. I often passed the stop signal. It should definitely be bigger. At least as long as a locomotive.
