So I’ve racked up enough of the Microsoft rewards points to get a £5 Xbox voucher, and I was thinking about maybe getting either the RHTT or the ROG 37. Out of the German and British content, what I’m mostly interested in, they seem like the 2 that are best to give a go. And considering I’m not actual paying for them it’s even more tempting to give it a to.

I was wondering which one is the best to go for first? I do also own BCC and play it pretty regularly and I know the RHTT layers onto that, but is there anything the ROG 37 does that might make it a better buy?

any thoughts would be much appreciated.

The ROG 37 is just a slightly modified class 37. It allows coupling to the class 375 and has the brake controller for the hauled electrostar.
It currently only has use on SEHS extended.

The Class 66 RHTT comes with the tanks and the controller for the spray in the cab.
It layers onto BCC and SEHS extended.

It's all down to personal choice. If you want thrash then go for the 37. If you want more scenarios/timetable runs to play then go for the RHTT.

RHTT will see use on more and more routes.

I'd like to say the ROG will see more limited use moving forward. BUT DTG are now saying they are putting gameplay before prototypical services, so it's likely to be seen on plenty of UK routes. For that reason I'm not buying it because I hate none prototypical layering.

I am much the same. I didn’t take much to the HST’s running on BCC (yes it happened but it’s not everyday of the year and I don’t want to see it every time I drive a service). And I really don’t like the railtour services running with dirty mk2’s and dirty diesels / steam trains that are lacking modern regulations for mainline running. Im all for giving people more to do, but let us turn it off if we don’t want to see it.

Anyway thanks for the comment, I think I’m going to go with the RHTT.

RHTT seems more involved to drive which I like the sound of, 37 seems a bit bland other than the thrashing as you mentioned. But I still enjoy Tees Valley for that.

    Thanks for the comment.

RHTT provides a lot more running than the ROG

Interesting I didn’t know that. Although I’ve got not plans to buy MML.

I think a rather good idea seen recently with non-prototypical layering is that they only appear in specific months as AI. E.g. the TGV on SEHS appears I think only in two months.

If you are an expert of what when and where sure but there's nothing in game to tell you and without trawling the forums its virtually impossible to know how to avoid it.

Easier just not to purchase the route/loco DLC in the first place if it bothers you.

Oh yeah, these definitely should be more obvious as to when they run.

This is probably the best way to do it, It would be better than not having it at all.

Go for RHTT since you can run that on BCC in addition to SEH. If you have an older route like GWML London Paddington to Reading and East Coastway the RHTT Class 66 tends to substitute itself over the older versions from East Coastway and GWML London Paddington to Reading.

I wouldn't go for the ROG 37, it's poorly textured, incorrectly proportioned, and with a laughably poor attempt at a pre-refurb Class 375. Not that I'm allowed to say that on here since I get interrogated by the TSW brigade. The RHTT pack may be a one-trick pony too, but at least it has good sounds and textures.

Thanks for all the comments. I did go with the RHTT in the end :). I’m enjoying it.
