What does it say on your screen when the brakes come on?

If it says WT nicht zeitgerecht betÃĪtigt, probably means you forgot to acknowledge a signal or speed sign.

Yes, this means you have missed a signal or speed sign.
Each time you do not acknowledge a Signal in time, the train will automatically stop till you release the PZB Penalty brake.

PZB Magnets do not function like SiFA on which SiFA will announce itself around 2 to 3 times beforehand.
However, I know that there is a Safety System Assist Option in the Settings you can turn on.
This will make it so the HUD will tell you when to acknowledge PZB.

I second this, on freight runs with the black 185 on RRO the PZB assist does not work. Mind you, it'd be a good skill to learn not to need it as a driver, but the bug does exist.

Don't know if that is relevant, but if my memory is correct, there is at least one isolated Ne2 board on RRO. That needs to be acknowledged the same way a distant signal showing Vr0 (yellow) would have to be acknowledged.
