Link to article here.: https://forums.rivet-games.com/foru...burban-airdrie-extension-coming-soon#post8837 Lets try and keep it on topic as well please
i had to look it up but this gives a good over view as well as a map https://www.railfreight.com/uk/2022...-cloud-over-coatbridge-sunnyside/?gdpr=accept
Dumbarton Central today 16/02 has 3 freight paths with 1 running https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...2-16/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=freight&order=wtt Airdrie is on one of the lines to Edinburgh and Bellgrove is the next junction towards Glasgow That station has no booked freight passing thru https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...2-16/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=freight&order=wtt Ignore the Class 3 trains as those are RHTT Workings and won't run until September. Not sure what freight you might run on this route as it's designed for passengers
This seems to be backdated to 2010ish though, given the Class 67 and Mk3 sleepers+Mk2 seats on the Ft Bill sleeper
Picked this up rather interesting to note the line goes beyond airdrie to Livingston track is in place but no scenery I wonder if the community or rivet will extend the scenery further
Well came home from work and have ran 2 scenarios on this Class 66 one and a class 320 from Airdire to Helensburgh central and was a really nice drive if i am honest. Look forward to the community making some scenarios for this route
Would you recommend it? I'm a huge fan of the of the original Suburban Glasgow Northwest: Springburn - Helensburgh Route and I'm wondering if I should get this one. It may not be much, but the -14% discount on release seems nice to buy currently while it's on sale slightly.
I really enjoyed it the scenery is really nice for the suburban feel and it is nice having basically the whole line from Balloch/ Helensburgh to airdrie Your going to get the usual moaning comments saying how it used to be free etc. honestly the developer is a really nice guy he deserves to be paid so for me that in itself was a no brainier
Thank you, great to hear about the suburban feel which is what I loved so much about the original route. I loved the one track sections that were surrounded tightly by houses, it had such a great feeling driving through those areas.
that a developer deserves to be paid is one thing. But to list prices about 19,99€ (regular price for this extension) for a only 9mile extension with a Class 66 and Class 67, both recycled and not new either another? Additional the pricing for the bundle (~45 mile long main route + 9mile extension) for about round 35€ (29,99 main route). That is slapping in the face against all who have the main route already buyed. Oh, I forgot, Rivet made stuff to the routes too. But sorry, but why not fresh vegetation assets? And when I look back to the main route, the area around the SEC is poorly designed too. So I came to the conclusion: this extension could no 19,99€ worth
The area around the SECC is pretty good compared to IRL giving I am from the area instantly I knew what each building was. Ie the riverside museum the hydro etc etc so don’t know how you can say it’s not like real life.
yeah I know the sections you mean up to Balloch is really good and the sections between Helensburgh and Dumbarton that real rural feeling. Honestly the extension granted it’s 9 miles but that’s what it is IRL so I fail to see what people expect from the developer. Do they want him to make it longer with fictional stations lol.
You can ‘try before you buy’ with the video above. He says it’s down to £12.89 till 24 Feb. https://store.steampowered.com/app/...burban_Glasgow_Airdrie_Route_Extension_AddOn/
I have only the one career scenario left to do and really enjoying the route. Do enjoy toms videos as well always goes into great detail.
Anyone who owns this route i have made a little scenario for it and released it on ATS here feedback is always welcome https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/0923-balloch-to-airdrie/ kind regards,
I managed to do about three quarters of it earlier before having to sign off. Great run through the length of the track, with a nice spell of rain added too! Well done. Yes, the 303 didn’t load because I don’t have the sound pack, but I was able to swap it easily enough in TS Tools. The default 303 is eerily quiet when the power is off: I guess the sound pack deals with that?
Ah sorry to hear that I wasn’t sure if it would work or not as it was a sound pack not an enhancement pack sorry about that. Thank you for the kind words though
No problem. On the one hand I was going to suggest a 303 without the sound pack, to maximise the market, but I suppose most of those accessing ATS will likely be adept at swapping trains in TS Tools. Finished the route tonight, with another dose of rain on the home stretch.
glad the rain worked my friend helped me with that as can be a bit overwhelming first time trying get it working. glad you enjoyed it though thank you for your kind words
Hello, the line is on promotion at the moment: but there's only a free scenario? Nothing about the workshop? Thanks
Has anyone got a fix for the missing assets at two locations, there may be more, on this route? Given that the milk bottles are immediately under some unsupported OHLE I suspect that the missing assets are OHLE supports. The first location is near the road bridge at the West end of Airdrie station and the other at Sunnyside Junction. I've got a couple of screen shots but I can't see a way of adding them to this post. The Trainsim TV video review of the route mentions at least one of them so I doubt it's an issue with my TSC installation. I've reported it to Rivet and await their reply.
If you read the info on the website it shows 6 Career Scenarios Included Scenarios A selection of Career scenarios are included: Roll on Summerston Run For The Hills Clydeside Direct East Dunbartonshire Commuter Washed Out by the Loch Where There Once Were Shipyards AFAIK there are no Workshop Scenarios
Those are the scenarios for the first Glasgow Suburban route, not the Airdrie extension to it. There are 5 career scenarios in the Airdrie extension dlc, 3 for the Class 320, 1 for a Class 66 and 1 for the Class 67. There are also Quick Drives but with a rather limited selection of departure and destination points.
I talked about the extension, we don't find any scenarios apart from the 5 delivered, and one from ats
I've got two scenario's on my site here: http://get-geeky.weebly.com/modern-scenarios.html - one of them is also on ATS but the newest one isn't (Class 303 one)
I picked this up in the recent sale, swapped the missing assets for similarly named ones which at least got rid of the milk bottles. Annoying that it installs as a new copy of the route rather than just extending the original. I wonder what the reason for doing it that way was? I don't know if Iain MacKay is on here, if so maybe he could tell us?
