It would make use of the existing class 52 and could add the Castle class and modified Hall class.

DTG could get the info from the line from the old TS route they created and use that as an already existing base for the new TSW route, and with the existing information they gathered from TS it would shorten production allowing for quicker development of other routes and add-ons.

There would be the water troughs just past Exminster to mess around with and no longer existing stations such as Kingskerswell and the branch line to Brixham. Even then I haven't talked about how beautiful the line would be with it passing through the lovely Devonian countryside and the line passing along the amazing Dawlish sea wall.

There are two depots to construct with there being a massive shed at Newton abbot and another one at Exeter. There would also be quite a bit of freight traffic and the newly made freight wagons from Crewe-liverpool could be taken advantage of along with the wagons from the Heavy Freight Pack. Allowing for regional and local freight services to be set. They could even add the class 35 or even a large prairie as an add-on for the route as they were stabled in the area at that time. The passenger models won't even need any work as again Crewe to Liverpool models could be used.

The class 101 could even be used with wiki stating "From 1967, several 101 sets were transferred to serve the South West." "They were stabled at Reading and Plymouth Laira depots, with the units serving until 1987"

If they were to use a mix of diesel hydraulic and steam it would need to be set in the 60s with the class 52 "Western" entering service in 1961 and the class 35 "Hymek" doing it in the same year. One locomotive I haven't said about the the class 42 "Warship class" which entered service in 1958 as an express passenger locomotive but was relegated due to it being not powerful enough and the class 52 entering service.

To summarise it would be a beautiful route with the switch from steam to diesel being ever present as you could pass a 52 or a castle in a hall or even a large prairie. It would be more cost effective for DTG and would be a nice addition to TSW.
