west cornwall is still in planning hell
Still no Penzance trains... but it sounds interesting.
It's strange how the london landmarks issue on console for the bakerloo line has been a issue for a long time. I thought that was fixed ages ago but I guess I hadn't noticed the issue. I was thinking this roadmap would be the rush hour roadmap but I guess that will come when cane creek comes out
Hence why a developer shouldn't announce a route if they haven't locked in what trains will come with it
Nice one. I was expecting Rush Hour and nothing else but this is roadmap still includes other items which is helpful.
It’s a good job the England Germany game is at 5pm rather than 8pm or you might have a rather small audience in those two countries and Natalie would probably be doing the stream by herself.
It was fixed quite a while ago, but almost all the Preserved Collection fixes got stuck in the testing/release queue and now are being held for the big Rush Hour update.
I’ll be honest , I’m a bit disappointed with this roadmap . It was supposed to be more focused on RH : I do not see that . Hopefully it is better in 2 weeks
What do you guys think will the new unreal engine do for this game? Im very curious how it will enhance the game or what the update for the nextgen consoles will be..
I am intrigued by the terrain/grade screen, though
The Roadmap is really stupid and nothing new to say.
Major update might be good but god only knows what will end up broken after it added.Lack of testing will be the nomal cause and dtg defenders will just say dtg can't waste time doing extra testing because they want to make money not lose money.(No problem wanting to make money but by going the extra mile an doing it right the 1st time means less time wasted doing it again. They could make even more from happy players giving good word of mouth to there friends about there product).
As for cane creek the route looking good but the included trains should also make the route exciting but as alway theres not a single new train included but i do like the UP roadname.
New player sorta kinda ... mostly excited about the nec boston providence would like to see nec new york on the train sim 2 perserved collection .. otherwise definitely my fav game will def support you guys keep the excellent work
No trains for WCL yet...
I'm pretty sure once the roadmap shifts its focus to Rush Hour nothing new will be added to it (except for additional details of the stuff coming with Rush Hour and the trains coming with WCL), so there's no point in complaining and calling it the "lamest/most boring roadmap ever" for 6 continous weeks (based on when Rush Hour is expected to be released).
From reading the roadmap its good to see a new icon is marked next to items that are arriving with the Rush hour update.
"Others, like the changes to passenger behaviour, density and variety will be added to older routes over time" - Looks like old routes will get more busy in the future.
Its also nice to see a statement about the west cornwall route. Clearly it was not ready to be added to the roadmap.
"Finally, we're still not quite ready to confirm the final make-up of the West Cornwall Local route as the team are evaluating the scope of the project. It may end up being larger than it is currently, hence the delay in releasing full details."
Rewatched the stream. The Class 150 is coming to West cornwall route.
<< Update >>
"[Core] Memory use optimisation"
So is not part of the engine change and major update? Does this mean that the layers on console will still be limited with this?
To be fair 12 of the 28 things on the roadmap are Rush Hour related now, most of the opening preamble is related to it, and if you strip out the third party items the majority of what is on the roadmap is Rush Hour stuff. Given they are doing a slow reveal of new features with every roadmap this is not a bad starting point to be honest.
The opportunity the upgrade brings is being able to unlock performance upgrades on PS5 and XBSX because the newer version of Unreal can tell them apart from PS4 and XB1, which means players on new generation consoles could in theory see layers unlocked and similar performance as players on decent PCs (but DTG have confirmed nothing about what if any improvement there will be so it currently exists only as a possibility). As far as we have been told so far there's no direct link between the engine update and the layers on older consoles.
Mmmmmh I don’t see the PZB fixed for HBK and the 146.2 sounds finally fixed
What were you expecting? Things are progressing and if there’s nothing new to say, then there’s nothing new to say. Do you want them to make things up? Don’t you remember the uproar the week that there was no roadmap?
When they do announce something early so they’ve got something to say, such as Penzance, people then complain that it was announced too early when it remains in planning.
Basically, DTG can’t win whatever they do.
I’m interested in the updated immersion controls when playing with a controller. Hopefully, we’ll get more camera options as per the classic controls.
Shame the 313 is taking so long. Haven't spent any money on TSW2 content since southeastern high speed
Yeah, me too.
There is no question that next gen consoles are able to handle longer routes and layers . It depends what DTG do with last gen consoles
It has been fixed. There is no PZB issue anymore?
im expecting a button for free cam
The alternative is a keyboard , would be nice to see free cam back on controller tho
Or people shouldn't feel entitled to get all information spoonfed at once, or at all...
The class 150 will be included in the West Cornwall Local Route
Where did you see that ?
Still broken for me I got random 500HZ zwangsbremsung at green or orange aspect and before a red one I don’t get the 500HZ
Good live stream tonight. Lots of information given on lots of aspects of Rush Hour, the core update and next gen console versions. The new pause screen and immersion controller were talked about at length. Worth a watch if you didn’t catch it live.
Yeah, the new pause screen definitely looks good.
Glad to see we’re getting the class 150 in West Cornwall. Let’s hope for a Class 43 as well.
Natalie might be a bigger football fan, and may have left the others to do the livestream!
The new gradient profile is very welcome. If you've played TS 20XX, you know how useful this can be. Pity, though, about the 2d map legend not coming. Again, something missing that's really useful in TS.
22:00 video time
Oh yeah I forgot there’s a stream sadly I can’t watch it at work but later as it might contains a lot of information
fixed it for ya
Whilst the new info and gradient profile on the pause menu are a good thing, I find it slightly strange that this has taken priority over fixing the gradient profile on the HUD, which has been broken (or is that works to our bad design?) since the release of TSW2.
If the new display is all about helping players drive the route, then surely the HUD gradient indicator, which causes complete confusion even to experienced players when running in reverse should have been the priority before introducing new features. Lets hope the fix for this does make the Rush hour release.
I agree. Very well moderated by DTG Natalie; she asked a lot of good questions. Reminded me of you know who and I mean that as a compliment. I was surprised by the announcement of 5 apparently separate versions, but it makes sense in future terms. Sounds like there will be a huge download when Rush Hour launches and I wonder what impact that will have on drive space. Lot of food for thought and reasons for optimism about the direction of the game. Positive vibes, as they say.
I would go further and say she is better than you know who. All she is lacking is experience imo.
I have to say it's a better improvement over what we have now.
Agree that Nat was really good and professional, asking questions, also funny and joking when needed. We had a game today (Sweden-Ukraina) so I'm watching the "stream" right now...
they showed in game screenshots???!!
I've absolutely loved the last 2 Road Maps with Nat at the helm. She gives off that fun but serious vibe and shows alot of enthusiasm for the product. Much like I thought of Sam on these streams. She represents the fans very well.
My question of if Next Gen consoles gameplay will look closer to the PC experience was pretty much answered.
And can't wait to see what the Series X standalone is going to bring to the table. Should be like a brand new game visually.
MSFS 2020 out on July 27th and TSW 2 Rush Hour in August. What a great time to be a sim fan on console
These aren't any actual in-game screenshots, rather that these are artist impressions. It's what they're aiming to deliver, but do expect for the actual pause screen to look different when the update eventually goes live.
I'm surprised that for some things they're still saying they're looking at it, for example the layers on next gen consoles.... It sounds more like the update is still far away and won't come in a few weeks. Such things should actually already be fixed when the release is so "close"?
