For years, Romanian players (and even many international fans) have been asking for a proper Eastern European diesel route in Train Sim World — something outside the usual UK–DE–US cycle, something with its own character, rough infrastructure, and authentic regional operations.

The București Nord – Câmpulung line is exactly that route people keep saying they want:

    • a network with historic Sulzer locomotives,

    • rural and mountain scenery not found anywhere else in TSW,

    • proper industrial freight at Holcim Câmpulung,

    • and a complete experience from a capital-city terminus to a mountain industrial valley.
Every time players talk about wanting “more unique countries,” “more old-school diesel operations,” or “something from Eastern Europe,” this route fits perfectly. It’s the kind of line that has been mentioned for years in Romanian train-sim communities as “a route we’d love to have, but nobody has ever made.”
    Why This Route?
This corridor is one of Romania’s most varied diesel lines and has never been represented in any simulator. The route starts at București Nord, one of the busiest stations in the country, moves through the flat southern plains, then climbs into the foothills of the Carpathians before entering the narrow valleys leading to Câmpulung .
The final Lerești branch towards Holcim România – Fabrica Câmpulung adds a strong freight identity, something TSW rarely gets for Eastern Europe.

    What Makes the Route Special
    1. Urban → Rural → Mountain Transition
You begin in the dense Bucharest suburban environment, then gradually leave the city, passing farming fields and villages, and end in a mountain industrial valley — an excellent mix for varied gameplay.

    2. Unique Stations & Halts

      • București Nord – multiple platforms, heavy traffic scenario potential
      • Titu – important passing station
      • Golești – historical station, junction point
      • Câmpulung – iconic mountain terminus
      • Halta Parcul Kretulescu – small, scenic stop in the forested part near Câmpulung
      • Lerești – rural halt before the industrial branch
    3. The Holcim Cement Factory Branch
The short spur from Câmpulung toward Holcim România S.A. – Fabrica Câmpulung would give TSW a proper Romanian industrial operation:

      • loaded cement wagons
      • limestone and clinker trains
      • shunting inside the factory
      • steep gradients and tight curves on the branch
    Rolling Stock Possibilities
    Passenger

      • CFR Class 82 / 96 DMUs (“Săgeata Albastră”) for Regio
    Freight

      • CFR Class 60/62 (Sulzer) – essential for realism
      • GFR / Tehnotrans Feroviar locomotives (60/62 or modern GMs)
      • Cement wagons (UIC type Uacns / Uacs)
      • Sliding wagons (Habins)
    Gameplay Variety

      • Regio services between București Nord ↔ Câmpulung
      • Short local trips between Câmpulung – Lerești
      • Industrial freight from Holcim to București field yards
      • Heavy Sulzer-hauled cement trains down the mountain grades
      • Suburban operations between București Nord – Titu
    Unique challenges include:

      • low speed rural sections
      • steep gradients towards Câmpulung
      • shunting inside a realistic Romanian cement factory environment
      • tight passenger timetables around Bucharest
    Scenery Highlights

      • The wide rail yards at București Nord
      • Open farmland and river crossings between Bucharest and Titu
      • Golești vineyards area
      • Forested valley leading to Câmpulung
      • Industrial silos, conveyors, and sidings at Holcim România – Fabrica Câmpulung
