Is there ever going to be a route which takes in on of the most impressive sections of any route in the U.K., Dawlish Walls? If you are still at odds with GWR over licensing can you do a hark back to the blue days and get a CL50 into the game?
Ok so saying this was created, what would it require extra? From the years I’ve been around the West Country and visiting family in and around the Devon area there isn’t any traffic that would have to be recreated except for the CL50. Therefore extra time and effort could be put into the design of the route. Possibility of routes from Exeter St David’s: ExSD-Barnstaple ExSD-Exmouth ExSD-Paignton ExSD-Plymouth ExSD-Taunton-WSM / BTM The possibilities are immense from passenger services to Clay Trains, post trains, milk trains etc Once Plymouth is in the catalogue then there could be Plymouth-Penzance. We are always being told the next iteration on TSW is better well let’s start connecting routes and giving people what they want. Whilst I understand connecting route upon route is at the moment unrealistic why not do it in stages. So for example I decide to do ExSD-PLY then the route ends but it gives me the option of continuing on a PLY-PEZ. This format could then be used to connect other parts of route which would create a functioning network. Let’s join the dots and fill in missing areas like LON-PET etc and be able to enjoy the game to the max.
Btw connecting route upon route is absolutely fine and should be done soon on any route in my opinion. What I presume would happen on let's say if there were a Paddington to penzance route (Padding to Reading - Reading to Exeter - Exeter to Plymouth - Plymouth to Penzance) you would start at Paddington, and when you begin to enter Reading it would either pause to allow the next section to load or gradually load the new section and so on and so fourth. I do believe this may sound a bit weird or unpractical so I'd love to hear your opinions about this
Also side note if yer got good device to handle the full length then make it an option so you don't have to worry about loading section after section (albeit I'd worry more about this than my PS5 lagging to death)
It’s such well photographed route in real life that it makes it a no brainer to add it to TSW. A 70’s/80’s timetable would be amazing.
I have suggested the Riviera Line set in the 1980s - https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/riviera-line-in-the-eighties-exeter-paignton.81441/
This is one of those routes that would be good no matter what era it was set! It'd be great to have it in original BR days, with 50s and whatever else used to run there. But, I actually think I personally would prefer this in modern day style, with GWR/XC HSTs, 80Xs, 150s, 158s, 166s, XC 221s, plus plenty of railtour options based on what I've heard has gone there; Flying Scotsman, 33s, 37s, 40s, 47s, 52s and I'm sure lots of others, plus 66s on the clay train! I think it'd be great!! Really hope to see this sometime in the near future, beit modern era or new - either way I'd be happy to pick it up!
