Details: 160km/h on a regional train all the way 100+ km of track Berlin S-bahn maybe Cottbus - Kolkwitz - Vetschau - Raddusch - Lübbenau - Lübben - Lubolz - Schönwalde - Brand(Tropical Islands) - Halbe - Groß Köris - Bestensee - Zeesen - Königs Wusterhausen RE2, RE7, S46 Trains: BR 182 (BR 147) BR 442 BR 483/484
A possible extension also would be the RE route from Cottbus to Dresden, which is the route cut up in Großenhain in the Dresden Riesa Nahverkehr DLC, and Hoyerswerda (where the route to Dresden btw is also split up to at Ruhland) is also not far from Cottbus. Don't know how far it is from the tracks, but the Tropical Island arena would be a cool static mesh. Do you know in which era you will set the route in? Because back in the 90s, it was used as a hangar for zeppelins, and you could place or even let some zeppelins fly over there then.
There is actually a lot to tell about this, I have already started creating a Desiro HC model, but when I noticed, that someone else had more progress, i stopped it, so that there will be no preference problems, maybe I'll reach out to foly, when it's time, but for now the RE1 will be driven by simple Talent2's. And I am not yet sure, how far I'll build, because I dont want to cross ways with oaschkaeks#9181 S-Bahn Route.
I'll use the plan from 2023, so that ODEG has given away the RE2 and taken RE1, because I only want to do the route in the first place, else I'd have to model the Stadler KISS, I dont yet how it will go, the fuggin dream would be, to drive all the way to Wismar with an ODEG Stadler KISS in the old plan from 2022.
I just looked up, that I would cross oaschkaeks#9181's S-bahn route at Ostkreuz already, well thats not good...
I think this is the peak of a Route i would hope for. Two of my hometowns, Berlin and Lübben. I would definetely pay for this!
The usual length of a TSW addon developed by a team of professionals is around 50 - 60km. Cottbus - Berlin is 130km and includes the centre of Berlin's largest city crossed above ground. So after he finishes this trivial project, he should "also insert" an extra 320km? That's erm... optimistic
Big news TaurusCB is now my "partner", he has contacted me, after he saw my post, because he was trying to build the same route, lol, he had layed track between cottbus and Vetschau, and I had layed track between Vetschau and Lübbenau, he used Lidar, and he had no Google Maps Overlay, I had no Lidar and a Google Maps Overlay, so... the perfect fit, in the end we decided to start over, because we both only had some drafts, that were pretty bad. Since it is pretty hard, to work on a route together, we decided to split the work, he will put everything together, build the route, and lay track, I will do a lot of blender stuff, like modelling the stations, etc. and also customizing some trains, like making a 147 out of the 187, and a Rapid Transit 182 with Dispolok 182 sound(both still buggy). I hope for a good cooperation :]
Sounds like Progress! A question would be if you would make the NES Doppelstockwagen that usually get driven for example in the RE2 Line and alot of other Regional Trains.
definetly looking forward to the 147. one of my dreams having that in TSW. mainly because of the sound though lmao, but also because I really want to see the TRAXX 3 in passenger service. for a newer DB 182 I would rather wait until Folezz ports the 182 enhancement pack because there's also a DB repaint in it (the EP is for the Dispolok 182) and then if you maybe ask folezz you could add that to timetables or whatever I can also tag him, like, nourthelokdriver
it is not gonna be perfect, it'll be only some numbers from the outside that change, and hopefully it will be enabled to go 160km/h but I still need to figure the technical things out.
Oh, so in german the FIS, well thats gonna be difficult, because I would have to edit the original train model, I dont know yet, we'll see.
Bring it on and if I were you have a branch to Großenhain Cottbuser Bahnhof that way there is a route to Berlin from Dresden.
So I did a bit of research and the station of "Brand Tropical Island" is actually not that far away from Tropical Islands areal but still don't 100% know if you can see it from the tracks since there is lot of forest in between. However, for sure would be a cool thing to be able to see the big dome and the runway now used as parking lot from the third person camera in the distance.
Me and TaurusCB actually really dont like the idea, if there ever was a connection, it would be the 200km/h route via Elsterwerda, Doberluch-kirchhain and Mahlow, and currently we are not interested in building this route, and we are also talking about things far in the future, while i'd find it great, and I think it would be great, if we'd focus on things in the near future
It is probably gonna be a thing, that you can only see in outside perspectives, and it will probably be only a rough model, close to the border, where the map ends
Me and TaurusCB haven't talked about what we will do with the route after it's done, but my intention was to become a TSW 3rd Party, and I don't think we should sell your content with our name.
TaurusCB has already done great work, 17,8 GB of Lidar Data(wtf), I'll join him, when I have time, and I'll start with modelling the "Neues Werk Cottbus"
First update from my side: In the last few days I have laid the tracks in Cottbus Hbf. Towards the east, to Görlitz, Forst and Frankfurt, the pure track construction is finished (height adjustment and transitions, as well as super-elevation). In the west, towards Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden, the height adjustments and super-elevation are still missing. After that, track construction will start up towards Lübbenau.
If you're planning to build a route all the way to Berlin, then you'd need to also build a shunting station. Otherwise Cargo Trains would end up on the Berlin Stadtbahn, right?
Maybe you could also use the sidings in the west of S-BW Grünau for some shunting... shortly after, freight trains would branch off on the GAR to Berlin-Nordost or Seddin, so in some scenario, it may not be completely unrealistic/unthinkable, that a major long distance freight train would be divided in a local service to Berlin-Nordost and a local service to Seddin...or some driver exchange could also happen here...
If it is not too far away, we could maybe add a small branch, that would make freight trains more interesting.
Yes, the tracks are laid towards Lubolz. And I had to rebuild every curve from Cottbus to Lübbenau to get a realistic superelevation.
Next, I think, big update: Today I was able to complete the track laying to Königs Wusterhausen. Königs Wusterhausen with port: complete route map:
i dont understand the title of the thread says berlin-cotbus but the complete map is only Königs Wusterhausen - Cotbus oder verstehe ich das falsch?
