Route Extensions: The Suggestion

Discussion in 'Suggestions' started by trainsimgaming1001, Jul 16, 2021.

  1. Route extensions are a Controvsal topic surronding TSW2 and its ancesters (Kuju RailSimulator and RailWorks anyone?) and with most of the routes we have having many extension possibilitys (the only one that does not is WSR, IoW, Arosa, and BKL), I have came up of an Idea of how this could work. Heres how:

Dovetail has takes the original route and opens it in their editor
They add the new track and statiions
They rework the Timetable where needed to utilize this
    They create Scenarios for This.

Heres how they could do it for new routes they are building:
They have a Set of Extensions (I.E, the Midland Main Line London - Bedford being standard then an Extension to Sheffield for Example
They stop and Compile the Route in a Functioning state at the end of the Standalone Route
They then continue laying track and stations to the extension
They modify the Timetable where needed
They compile the route and release it as Extension.

Think of it with Train Simulator: This is bbasically what they did with North Wales Coastal. If ya brought the Holyhead Extension, it would appear as a Separate Route.

Or, if DTG are not up to this, they could do what they Promised 2 and a Half Years Ago. It has 6 Letters on one Word. Train Simulator has one. Its called, the Editor

I still would like the Peninsula Corridor extension to Gilroy along with a UP GP60 and maybe another UP diesel for more freight operations.

I see your points here, however, this goes back to this issue.

    DLC on DLC.

There is a much easier way.

Have two Seperate, distinct routes, and if a player has both, the game spots the link between them, and offers the download of this Free, linking Add-on. Only available to owners of both routes.

That way, you aren't forced to buy something you might not want, for something you do want.

I have reason to believe that DTG has solved the routing expansion problem, but they don't want to do too much work on expansion. The workload of expanding the route may be larger than that of developing the new route, or it can be said that the new route is better. Have purchasing power.
But I am tired of the basic 40-mile route of DTG. I hope that next time the U.S. freight route will reach more than 100 miles, or the basic route will be extended by dozens of miles, it may be very sad that 40 miles is long on the huge railway network.

There is one more point about the extension of the route. Many players have made suggestions, including myself.
In the years after the birth of the Simulated Train World, the agenda of the extended route should be included in the list of the route map. It is entirely possible to expand the Saban area, the former is Pittsburgh to Rockwood, and then Cumberland to Washington, DC.

Really excellent idea but on the other hand linked routes can be merged. Both my suggestions Duisburg Oberhausen-Arnhem Railway branches of from HRR at Duisburg Hbf and Mullheim Styrum and Raritan Valley Line branches off from NEC Newark airport to New Rochelle NY at Hunter interlocking.

Yes, merging two seperately sold routes is the superior solution, as both routes are purchaseble seperately, thus solving the DLC on DLC issue.

Every extension made is also a new route not made. DTG could have spent the time used making Clinchfield to make an extension to Sand Patch Grade. I know which I would prefer. New routes every time.
