While the VNHRR New Haven Springfield Line is a great route, we could definitely use another New Haven Route. I'd like to send a proposal for the New Haven Railroad's route from Providence, Rhode Island to Worcester, Massachusetts via Woonsocket. Along with the New York Central and the Pennsylvania Railroad, the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad (simply known as the New Haven Railroad) was one of the busiest railroads in the northeast, primarily in the New London region. The New Haven connected with the New York Central in major areas, such as Boston, Worcester, and Springfield. It also connected with the Pennsylvania Railroad in New York. By the late 1960's, they all faded into history and became the ill-fated Penn Central, which then became Conrail, and finally CSX and Norfolk Southern. As for the Providence to Worcester route itself, it operates today under the Genesee & Wyoming subsidiary, the Providence & Worcester. It also interchanges with CSX in Worcester, as well as other areas within the New London region. Just like the recently released Boston & Albany Route, the route shall include an all-ALCO pack, including the PA for passenger service, the FA for heavy freight service, and RS-3, or perhaps other ALCO switchers.
