These three Norfolk Southern lines in Virginia and West Virginia are three of the most beautiful and scenic pieces of railroad. With the Pocahontas District being more widely known for its tunnels and grades, The Whitethorne District pales in comparison. The Christiansburg District is a bit more flatter than both. Traffic on all three lines includes empty and loaded coal, intermodal and double stacks, time freights, grain trains, mine shifters, pushers and light engine moves.
