With the recent release of New York Central's Boston & Albany Route from Boston, MA to Springfield, MA, I would like to send a proposal for another New York Central Route. And that is the 101-mile section from Springfield, MA to Albany, NY with an additional 8 miles or so to Selkirk, NY. Selkirk, NY is also home to one of the largest railyards in the northeast. If the route is to be set in the Penn Central or Conrail era, it shall include the versatile EMD GP40, the burly EMD SD40, EMD SD45 and GE U30C as primary road power, and the EMD GP7, GP9, and SW-series as switchers. If the route is to be set in the NYC era, (since the Boston & Albany includes an all-ALCO pack) it shall include an all-EMD pack, including the F3 and F7 as primary freight power, the E7 and E8 as primary passenger power, and the GP7, GP9, and SW-series as switchers. Along with a variety of freight equipment, it shall also include streamlined coaches for the New England States, as well as the Lake Shore Limited.
B&A Alcos would be awesome to see. More classic diesel power should be added to TS Classic. Also, NYC could also give us Baldwin Sharknose RF16s, RS3s, and FAs/FBs. I would prefer some NYC steam power with Hudsons, Niagaras, and Mowhawks. As for Conrail, I'd suggest a 1990s-era roster with a C39-8, SD80MAC, SD70MAC, C40-8W, SD40-2, SD50, GP40-2, GP38-2, etc.
Where have you been? The B&A already has PAs, FA/FBs and RS3s in NYC livery plus the HH600 in B&A livery. There are also Penn Central versions as an add on pack. All in Steam library.
As I mentioned, the Boston & Albany includes an all-ALCO pack. It includes the PA, FA, RS-3, and HH600.
I purchased the New haven Springfield route in the steam sale ..already had the B&A route ..bought the PC vol 1 pak where you get PC FL9 SW1200 alco PA etc that added nice gameplay to that route..then I bought the pak that adds PC and Amtrak to the B&A route had to buy the amtrak SDP40f but the passenger cars dont show cant do the Lakeshore scenarios it gives ..i have the stuff to play PC scenarios like TV13 etc .I have also thought be neat if they added a Albany to Springfield route add on with NYC PC and Conrail era paks
