I am suggesting a route that has great scenery and beautiful ocean views, San Louis Obispo to LA. In this route you would begin at San Louis Obispo, then stop at Santa Barbara, then Ventura, Simi Valley, Burbank, and finally, Los Angeles. For a train consist, the standard Amtrak coaches and a F59PHI locomotive. I think that with the new commodities of Train Simulator 2018, a route such as this would be a great addition to the current Amtrak Pacific Surfliner route.

I love the idea! I personally would like to see it set in the 1950's with some early diesel locomotives in Daylight colors and rolling stock to match. It would also be nice to see a recreation of the Redondo Junction Roundhouse and ATSF shops since they were both very close to LAUPT at the time.

If this is made, we need BNSF diesels as well. I'm thinking a BNSF Genset and ET44C4. SP Daylight and Black Widow diesels could be cool, too. I'd really love ATSF in the 50s.
ATSF 4-8-4 #3751 should totally be included or sold separately as DLC.

This is a route that has been suggested for years and will likely never be done.

Which is really unfortunate, because this route opens a lot of doors for possibilities. The G-Trax 4449 would be able to run on home rails, a proper Daylight trainset could be made, and it opens the door to a TS Marketplace Amtrak Pacific Parlour Car offering.

Since The Route from San Diego to San Luis Obispo is 350 miles long, It will have to split into 3 sections. The First One goes from San Diego to Los Angeles, The Second one goes from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara, and The Last Section goes from Santa Barbara to San Luis Obispo.

Would love to see this but back in the days of the old Southern Pacific as they had a lot of interesting equipment and services in the area. For example Southern Pacific U50s and DD35s were based in the area and ran this route frequently.

That opens up the possibility of someone doing a merge of those routes so we get the whole thing. Good thinking mate.

This would be such a great route for train simulator! i already have the original Pacific Surfliner route and it is one of my favorites so this would be a must buy for me!

SP in the 1960s-70s sounds great. Plus, ATSF ran on part of this route. I'd love an SP EMD SD9, Alco RSD-15, FM Trainmaster, or Krauss-Maffei ML4000. The DD35 and U50 are great additions as well.

if they were to have SP content for the route, i would also love to see the Krauss Maffei hydraulics as well as the EMD SDP45 for passenger service

As mentioned in previous thread posts by others, this route has SO MUCH potential for a NUMBER of diverse content and scenarios. If it does come to TS, I'd certainly be in line to purchase it, be it in its modern incarnation, or a backdated version.
