Introduction: Route length - 39 miles (62.4km) Terminus stations - Aylesbury, London Marylebone Train Operating Companies - Chiltern Railway This route is not electrified meaning that London Marylebone is the only terminus station in London that is not electrified. Number of train stations - 18 Train Stations: Aylesbury Little Kimble Monks Risborough Princes Risborough Saunderton High Wycombe Beaconsfield Seer Green Gerrards Cross Denham Golf Club Denham West Ruislip South Ruislip Northolt Park Sudbury Hill Harrow Sudbury and Harrow Road Wembley Stadium London Marylebone This route takes place in the South East of England with the vast majority of the route taking place in Buckinghamshire. Rolling Stock: Class 165 Class 172 Class 121 “Bubble Car” The Class 121 Bubble Car was in use by Chiltern Railways until May 2017. They operated between the 7 mile single track line from Aylesbury to Princes Risborough and they have a huge significance on this route due to their longevity. DLC Class 68 The Class 68 on this route would be used from London Marylebone to Princes Risborough and vice versa and this is due to the fact that the Class 68 only operates services between London Marylebone and Birmingham Moor Street/Birmingham Snow Hill. Chiltern Railways used to run a Class 68 to Oxford, but they have since withdrawn this from service as of a few weeks ago. The Class 68 on this route would call at High Wycombe and Princes Risborough which will then see another driver take over the service from there. Service Pattern: Aylesbury to Princes Risborough (1tph) Princes Risborough to Aylesbury (1tph) Aylesbury to London Marylebone (4x trains a day) London Marylebone to Aylesbury (4x trains a day) London Marylebone to Birmingham Moor St (2tph) London Marylebone to Banbury (1tph) London Marylebone to Bicester North (1tph) London Marylebone to Princes Risborough (1tph) London Marylebone to High Wycombe (1tph) London Marylebone to Gerrards Cross (1tph) Final Thoughts: I believe that this route would be highly welcomed and loved by players of Train Sim World due to the fact that this route has a bit of everything which increases the market of players for this route. If you’re a fan of freight, you can drive a freight train from south ruislip to aylesbury which will carry goods needed for construction of HS2 near the Aylesbury area. if you’re a fan of quiet, scenic routes, the Aylesbury to Princes Risborough branch is the route for you because it features 7 miles of single track throughout the Buckinghamshire countryside before either terminating at Princes Risborough or continuing on to London Marylebone. if you’re a fan of high speed routes, the section of track between Princes Risborough and London Marylebone has various high speed sections. Furthermore, this route also has lots of amazing scenery such as the Chiltern Hills, historic towns such as High Wycombe and famous landmarks such as Wembley Stadium which would allow for the creation of many interesting scenarios which could relate to concerts or sporting events taking place there. As well as this, this route would be highly important in Train Sim World because of the benefits it has for DTG if they were to create the Chiltern Mainline which would see services continue past Princes Risborough and terminate at either Oxford, Birmingham Moor Street or Birmingham Snow Hill. I also believe that the level of replay-ability for this route is very high because of the various services that this route has to offer for fans of freight, fans of passenger services and fans of high speed. Mastery Rewards: The arch of Wembley Stadium lights up white and blue in the evening. White and blue representing the colours of Chiltern Railway. Platform 4 at Princes Risborough which does not see any Chiltern Railway trains stopping will have an idle steam train to represent the Chinnor and Princes Risborough railway line. Scenarios: The Oxford Flyer - Take control of a Class 68 train from London Marylebone to Oxford. You will be stopping at High Wycombe and Princes Risborough along the way which will then see another driver take over your train and continue the service on to Oxford Route Construction - Take a Class 66 carrying the goods needed for construction of a new high speed route (HS2) from South Ruislip to Aylesbury where another driver will then take over the service and continue on to Quainton. GWR Diversion (GWE Route needed) - London Paddington train station is closed due to engineering works. As a result of this, GWR trains will be diverting via the Chiltern Mainline and terminating at London Marylebone. You will be taking control of a GWR HST from Princes Risborough to London Marylebone making no stops along the way. Cup Final - it is the final of a big football tournament today and your train is longer than usual today to account for the increased number of passengers that will be travelling to Wembley Stadium today. Take control of this service from Aylesbury to London Marylebone stopping at every station along the way. Final Farewell - today is the last day that the Class 121 “Bubble Car” is in service. Take control of this service from Aylesbury to Princes Risborough calling at every station along the way and then change ends at Princes Risborough and make the return trip back to Aylesbury. Final Statement: JustTrains have the licensing for Chiltern Railways. They have previously created this route suggestion on Train Simulator Classic meaning that collaborating with JustTrains to make this route on Train Sim World would be highly beneficial, effective and they would be able to assist DTG with making an enjoyable, scenic, fantastic route which has a very high amount of replay-ability and would interest all types of Train Sim World players who enjoy Freight Services, Commuter Services, Express services, High speed and quiet, scenic routes.
This is a REALLY well written suggestion. Albeit I hate the idea of scenarios requiring other routes so I think that'd have to be scraped. This Route could also have the s stock as another train as that runs metropolitan line services from Marylebone to Chesham so
If the Chiltern Mainline was ever made on TSW after this route was already made, it would be 68 miles from Princes Risborough or if the extension on to Oxford from Princes Risborough was ever made, it would be 18 miles although people have said that making the Chiltern Mainline to Oxford would anger lots of players who have asked for the GWE to be extended to Oxford.
Would love to see this in game I think the turbostars are a good piece of kit so it would be cool to have the 172
